MY FAMILY TRIP TO MIAMI

My family and I like to travel a lot, as we get to share, learn and experience different
cultures with all of their background history, gastronomy and lifestyle. We like to have fun
and visit beautiful beaches and for this reason last year we travelled to Miami and
Cartagena.

On our last vacations, we went to Miami. We went to the beaches, art museums, shopping
malls and streets. Yet, one of the most exciting things for me was our trip to Cabo
Cañaveral, known be being the most important center of space activities in the US. At the
time, Apollo 11 mission was celebrating 50 years so we get to experience especial activities
such as a commemoratory video at the cinema. In addition, we saw how an Specex aircraft
was launched to the space, it was awesome! It was one in a life time experience for many
people.

On the other hand, we went to Cartagena, one of the most popular places to visit in
Colombia. Even though this was not my first time in Cartagena I learned a lot of things.
First, our first stop was to visit the “ciudad amurallada” I liked it a lot because it
remembered me to the colonial times and it was also pretty interesting that it was declared a
world heritage. Other aspect that I liked a lot was their gastronomy, since I like a lot
seafood and fried fish and coconut rice. Finally, I enjoyed the sunsets and the fishes we saw
at “Islas del Rosario”.

FUTURE

HOW I SEE MYSELF IN 10 YEARS?

Ten years from now, I see myself as a strong, independent, healthy, and most important of
all, happy person. I will be a systems engineer. For this reason, is that currently I am
studying what I will see at the University since it is pretty exiting for me. I think this career
will be very important in the future because as we have seen nowadays, the demand for
people specialized in software continues and will continue to increase exponentially. I
would like to study and live in the United States because I will be close not only to big
technology companies but also to prestigious universities. Finally, I hope to have a lot of
friends for go to party and have a good time.

So, once I get out of school, I hope to be a student of M.I.T or Sandford University since
they are both excellent universities. Helping others with technology and science will be
very exciting for me, for instance I want to make a scientific technological divulgation
videogame that will make the future generations more interested on these topics; my goal is
to create awareness about the importance of programming and technology.

On the other hand, I will like to have time to visit Australia, it has always been a dream for
me to see their incredible sunsets, unique types of plants, animals and gastronomy.

Finally, after 10 years I see myself spending time with my friends and family and at the
same time doing something for my society and mother nature. I also want to change
happiness and success for myself as well as for my parents and siblings.

PRESENT

PRESENT YOURSELF

My name is Emilio, I am 14 years old and I am Colombian. Currently, I live in Chía with
my parents Ricardo and Diana and my big sister Daniela. My Father is a doctor, he treats
cancer and likes to help people, he also likes to ride bicycle with his friends and watch
football. On the other hand, my mother is an Economist and likes animals. Similarly,
Daniela likes animals and studies business administration at the University of Los Andes.
Finally, I like a lot to study topics related to science and technology as I want/ hope to
become a systems engineer one day. My family and I really like to have animals and for
this reason we have two dogs named Bianca and Maila, I love them so much! They are
pretty, cute and a really good company.

Nowadays, I am studying at the Ginmasio Los Caobos School and I am coursing the 8th
grade. I like to go to school because we learn a lot of things among different classes such as
History, Math, Science, Spanish, English, etc. Yet, my favorite class is electronics and
science since I get to understand many topics used by systems engineers. Also, my favorite
teacher is Nicola from the streams class because I enjoy programming and working in
electronic designs.

My favorite foods are hamburgers, pickles and salmon but I also like to try new things
every time we go out for dinner or when we travel. Also, my favorite thing to do is to
travel, I like to travel a lot and share time with my family.

On my spare time I like to program but I also like to play football and talk with my friends.
Our favorite plan is to play with our dogs and play videogames such as Fortnite because we
like to meet new people and have a good time.
