I believe that learning through play is important because it allows children to use their creativity while

also developing their imagination. Play allows children to explore and create a world they can master
and understand. Learning to play keeps children engaged and entertained in activities. Play also allows
children to emulate what they see and practice those skills. The main idea I was able to understand from
this article is the ways we can help children engage in science. It also provided ideas as to how we can
incorporate science into children's everyday life.

I learned a new concept that I plan to use in my future classroom, and this was to create density bottles.
This concept will teach children the concept of density, it will show them that items with higher density
sink and that items with lower density float.

The question is how will I add teaching science in my future class? Will I only follow kids' leads or
questions they produce to teach them about science? How far ahead or advance science will the
children be able to comprehend. I wonder if teaching science will be easier once I learn more and plan
more activities. I wonder if I will be able to produce lesson plans that will meet children's interest and
keep their attention.

I learned valuable information from this article, it explained how science can be fun for children. This
article was very eye opening and now I want to learn more about teaching science in the early childhood
field. I would absolutely recommend this article to fellow early childhood educators.
