- Students will be able to learn the characteristics of the moon
- Students will create a picture of a moon at nighttime using chalk
- Students will be asked questions about the book

3. Materials and Equipment needed: (5 points)


 Book- Goodnight moon
 Worksheet
 Pencil
 Markers

4. Teaching (What will you do?) (5 points)


I would first begin the lesson by showing the students what book we are going to be reading today. After
I show my students what book we are reading today. I would then begin reading the book. I would then
stop reading after each page and ask my students questions about the book like What shape is the moon?
Where color is the moon? Can you find where the moon is at? After I finish reading the book, I would
then hand out a worksheet about the different moon phases to my students. I would then ask my students
to look at the moon phases that are on the worksheet. After they are done look at the different moon
phases I would then ask my students to circle which one of the moon phases that are on the worksheet, is
the one that is found in the book. I would then ask my students to tell me why they circled that moon
phase.

5. Closure: (2 points)
I would then end the lesson with the students coloring the moon phase that they circled on the worksheet
and create their own nighttime sky with the moon phase they picked. After they finish coloring and
making their nighttime sky, I would then hang their nighttime sky they made around the classroom.
