Anticipatory Set (Lead-In): Students will watch a video on what Christmas is. Students
will then answer questions on what they are learned from the video. Students will then
do an activity.
Step-By-Step Procedures: Students will begin the lesson with watching a video on What
is Christmas. After the video is over, students will be asked to answer questions by
raising their hands on what they learned from the video. Students will be asked
questions like What is Christmas? What day do we celebrate Christmas? After they
answer the questions. Students will be instructed to color and decorate Christmas Trees.
Plan For Independent Practice: Students will be given a worksheet of a Christmas Tree;
the students will be instructed to color and decorate the Christmas Tree however they
want. Students will raise their hands if they have any questions with their assignment.
Students will then cut out there Christmas Trees and will write at least five things they
like about Christmas on the back of their tree. Students will then share what they wrote
on their tree.
Closure (Reflect Anticipatory Set): When done sharing, students will then hang their
Christmas tree on the wall that is at the back of the classroom. Students will then finish
off the lesson with the students listening to Christmas Songs.
Assessment Based on Objectives: The assessment will be when the students finish
working on their Christmas Trees, they would share what they wrote on their Christmas
Tree to the whole class. Students will sit in a circle on the floor and listen to everyone
Share what they wrote. When the students finish working on their Christmas Trees, I
would ask my students what they learned from today’s lesson and what was their
favorite part of this activity.
Possible Connections To Other Subjects: Other subjects that are possible connections
with this lesson plan is Art and Science.
