Introduction

Significances of the training

Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A Senior High

School student has to undergo Work Immersion in an industry that directly relates to the

student’s postsecondary goal. Through Work Immersion, the students are exposed to and

become familiar with work-related environment related to their field of specialization to

enhance their competence. Specifically, the students are able to: gain relevant and practical

industrial skills under the guidance of industry experts and workers; appreciate the

importance and application of the principles and theories taught in school; enhance their

technical knowledge and skills; enrich their skills in communications and human relations;

and develop good work habits, attitudes, appreciation, and respect for work. These prepare

them to meet the needs and challenges of employment or higher education after graduation.

Objectives of On-The-Job-Training

The work Immersion is a key feature in the senior high school curriculum. It can be

conducted in different ways depending on the purposes and needs of leaners. It was stated in

the guidelines that work immersion will help develop among learner life and career, skills and

employment gearing towards the four exits envisioned for SHS graduates to choose from

employments, entrepreneurship, further skills training thought college education.

Time and Place of On-The-Job-Training

The days i spent doing the task at my OJT days in Salinas Westpoint College of

Rosario City was great although I only experience it at School because of the pandemic, I still

enjoy it, because I know having this kind of experience can make me grow and be ready in

the near future. And especially I learned more and I'm happy I experienced that. I can use that

one day.

President/ School Director (Mr. Edgardo A. Baybayan)-A president is the

supervisor of all employees, including teachers, maintenance workers, administrative staffers,

and any other employee of the school. Given the responsibilities held by principals, there are

several general skills and traits that are necessary to be an effective principal of a school. The

role of a president is to provide strategic direction in the school system. President develops

standardized curricula, assess teaching methods, monitor student achievement, encourage

parent involvement, revise policies and procedures, administer the budget, hire and evaluate

staff and oversee facilities.

School Administrator/ OIC (Ms. Felicisima M. Miranda- School Administrators

oversee administrative tasks in schools, colleges or other educational institutions. They

ensure that the organization runs smoothly and they also manage facilities and staff.

The duties of school administrators may vary depending on the size and type of

school they work in. For example, school administrators in small day care centers (where

they may be the only member of the administrative team) have different scope of

responsibility than at a large college (where they may specialize in a specific area).

Generally, though, School Administrators manage budgets, handle logistics and act as a point

of reference for everyone in the school.

School Principal (Ms. Angelika C. Cañedo)- A school principal is a primary leader

in a school building. A good leader always leads by example. A principal should be positive,

enthusiastic, have his hand in the day-to-day activities of the school, and listen to what his

constituents are saying. An effective leader is available to teachers, staff members, parents,

students, and community members. He stays calm in difficult situations, thinks before acting,

and puts the needs of the school before himself. An effective principal step up to fill in holes

as needed, even if it isn’t a part of his daily routine.

Registrar (Ms. Marisse R. Delgado)-A high school registrar is the person who is

responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential records relating to high school students

and their academic performance. This is a position which works in an office and will keep

hours commensurate with the school system.

Teachers-A Teacher is responsible for preparing lesson plans and educating students

at all levels. Their duties include assigning homework, grading tests, and documenting

progress. Teachers must be able to instruct in a variety of subjects and reach students with

engaging lesson plans.

Task Performed

Since our world is on pandemic all the things are limited like in work immersion, we all need to experience

work at least 40 hours in order to have knowledge and perspective in work area.

Since our OJT is divided in three categories, housekeeping, bread and pastry and cooking and these are the

things that I have to do. I really enjoy the cooking because that was my first time trying to cook and it’s

worth it. In the short time I have been cooking I have learned a lot in cooking, So i can use it in my future.

On my first day of OJT, Sir Kim was immediately given the requirements to comply. And told us what to

do with housekeeping, we cleaned up. Sweep the hallway, mop the tiles, clean the bathroom. Yes, it's hard

because it's tiring but it's okay and worth it because we only clean at school once and that's added to me to

get used to housekeeping tasks. I really enjoy cooking, I learned how to do that. Of course it is important

for me to learn to cook so that I can use it in my TVL strand and future. The first time I cooked at school, it

was fun and I was able to enjoy even though it was a pandemic. I experienced cooking even though we

only cooked for one day. I really enjoyed it because I was able to serve the teachers and I think they liked

it. I also enjoy because I was able to clean at school, It's good to have this and I learned a lot from OJT

and Work Immersions. And I was happy and I was with my classmates.

Over All Reaction

My overall reaction on the days I spent in the on-the-job trainee is memorable. at first I find it boring but I’m wrong,

I was happy because I met new people and became friends that day. The days I spent on ojt is so awesome and I’m

lucky because my groupmates is friendly and jokers at the same time. I thought I wouldn't enjoy it because I didn't

know anyone in my section but after a while I was able to talk to someone so I wasn't sad anymore and I didn't feel

alone. so I'm happy I finished my OJT because I already have friends and I've learned a lot that I can use in my

future. I am thankful to my teachers who helped me finish it well. And I'm thankful because I've experienced things

like this, I've learned a lot that I can add to my knowledge and future. And I realized that even hard I can do as long

as I have confidence in myself I will not be difficult.

Strengths and Weaknesses of the Training Area

Strengths

 SWPCI often have a more challenging academic curriculum

 SWPCI has a much smaller classes so teachers can give better individual attention

 SWPCI have a better access to resources like books, supplies and computers

 Discipline in SWPCI is usually a lot stricter. If there are students that disrupt

classes or ignore rules, they are more likely to be expelled from the school

Weaknesses

 SWPCI is expensive than public schools if you want to continue your college on

it.

 SWPCI often offer a more limited curriculum and are more traditional

in subject choices

 Some of the newer SWPCI schools don’t have sporting facilities and so offer

a limited range of extra-mural activities for Students

Daily Journal

Day 1 March 7, 2022 Monday

Today is my first day in OJT. On 1:00 pm, I have a job but I still go to my seminar to gain knowledge
about coffees, because I love coffees. It was a happy day, not boring, I thought it was boring because it was
about coffee but I was wrong. I learned more about coffee and we tasted it even though the coffee was
strong, it was delicious and the taste was pure. We taught well and I learned a lot about coffees, it was a
good experience for me. What I learned that day I can use in my future. I'm glad because I don't know a lot
about coffee so I can use it in my future. The people in the coffeeshop are kind, especially those who
taught us and my classmates.

Day 2 March 15, 2022 Tuesday

On my second day at OJT. 1:pm, I went to Sm to watch the ms & mr SWPCI pageant for my second ojt, I

thought I couldn't go because I had a job so when I got home from work I immediately went to Sm to

watch and support my classmates. When I went, many people had their own candidates to support. It's fun

because I enjoy watching and I'm having fun even though I'm tired from work, I still finished the event to

complete my OJT.

I need to learn so that I can use it in my future.

Day 4 April 12, 2021 Tuesday

my fourth day at ojt was our long-test exam 8:00 am- 5:00 pm, when I entered school
I thought I was late because it was past the time we should have for the exam. The exam has
already started, I'm nervous because I'm from work and I haven't reviewed anything but we
have time to review so before starting, I read my previous modules so that I can answer
something in my test paper. While I was taking the exam, I focused so that I could put the
correct answer on my paper. I was happy when after our exam I was able to talk to my friends
so I lost my nervousness. Thanks I had an exam because I learned something and I can use it
in my dreams.
