Abstract
The purpose of this experiment is to figure out that whether there are some differences
between females and males when they remember observations. My hypothesis of the
experiment is that females are better in overall memory ability. I start with an experiment that
I listed some pictures, and the subjects may have the 30s to observe the pictures, and then,
they need to accomplish a questionnaire which is related to the detail in the pictures. The
result shows that the average score from females are about 73.4%, and males get 73.6% in
average, which means that actually the memorial ability between females and males is nearly
equal. For experiment next, in my opinion, we can study about whether females and males
may have different abilities when they try to remember different kinds of objects. The reason
why I recommend that as the experiment we can do next is that what we're doing right now is
a partial study of memory between men and women, so we can go on to search for the
Introduction
The goal of the experiment was to find out if there were any differences between women and
men when recalling observations. I wanted to see if gender could affect how well a person
remembers the information they see. To identify the result, I set a hypothesis that ‘females are
better in overall memory abilities’, because in my own experience, my mom always shows
better remembering ability than my father. She can remember the location of everything in
our home. Also, according to a psychological science study, "The role of gaze position in
image of a trusted space, such as a living room, dining room, etc., and items in the image
were deleted or rotated during the scan (Henderson & Hollingworth, 1999). Even if the
participants were asked to remember the scene and all the details, but the test subjects still
didn't want to notice the changes. Experiments with three factors affect the ability to detect
changes in participants: when looking at regional and change the distance between the
reduced hours, identification accuracy increases, sometimes ignore the initial changes, only
when the change to return to the original direction of the region to identify, and when the
scanning direction of the viewer with the deleted items in the same direction, the recognition
Research Methodology
In my experiment, there were 20 people who did this exam, 10 women and 10 men. My
controlled factors are the time and the objects they need to memorize. I kept them as my
controlled factors by monitoring the time of the experiment which is the 30 seconds, and give
my subjects the same picture in order to make sure the academic accuracy. My experiment is
designed to ultimately make assumptions on the short-term memory capacity of people based
on gender. Therefore, we will record and keep track of the observation of each gender and

Our subjects will have the 30s to look at the images I provide, and when they finished, there
will have 4 questions which are related to the details from the images. After running all of our
subjects through the experiment, we were able to observe how they explored the images. The
result shows that actually, the memorial ability between females and males is nearly equal.
Although there do have some people who do extremely good work or do relatively adverse
work which will affect the result, as we can also see above that as the person who does the
work which will affect the ultimate result, 2 of them are males, and 3 of them are females,
which did not really make a big difference in the overall results.
Discussion
Even with this small amount of data, we can see essence through the phenomenon about the
memorial abilities between males and females. The average score from females are about
73.4%, and males get 73.6% in average. Subjective experience makes the viewer believe their
vision, the system provides a complete and true reproduction of the scene in front of them -
that gender does not have much effect on memory. We ran the same experiment on all
subjects and found no significant difference in accuracy between men and women. The
figures were calculated by dividing the number of correct responses for each gender by the
average of the total number of images. There was little difference between men and women in
memory efficiency, just a negligible error of 0.2 percent. I hypothesize that our female
subjects will prove to have better memories than their male counterparts. This proved wrong
in our results, despite that according to a report from Science Daily magazine that they think
female and male do have some differences when they were trying to remember something,
nut they also say that‘ There are specific things that take a lot of research to conclude, and
sometimes there are subtle differences.’ Although this figure may be inflated by the number of
subjects in the study. With only 10 subjects in each category, the percentages of accuracy
would be closer, so the gap between the two groups would narrow. Effective research into the
effects of gender and memory will lead to determining which genders have better memories
and why, and can bring the other genders up to standard. Hopefully, my experiment will
Since my experiment produced results that I can draw conclusions from, I consider it a
success. According to the results I collected from the experiment, I can conclude. Although
my hypothesis was wrong, it added to my feelings of surprise and joy when I found the truth.
Since my male and female subjects answered the same number of questions correctly, this
suggests that women's memory is actually similar to men's memory. So it seems that gender
doesn't matter much in the use of memory. For experiment next, in my opinion, we can
research whether females and males may have different abilities when remembering different
kinds of objects. The reason why I recommend that as the experiment we can do next is that
what we're doing right now is a partial study of memory between men and women, so we can
go on to search for the particular differences between male and female, such as there may
have some differences when they remember the objective things or subjective things, and that
