CHAPTER 1: ELECTRIC CHARGES AND FIELDS

GRADE: 12 CBSE (2022-23) SUBJECT: PHYSICS

Date of Submission: 4 April 2022.

1. Find the force between two charges 2nC and 10nC placed at a distance
of 5 cm from each other.
2. When two charges +18µC and +200µC are placed in vacuum get
repelled by a force of 360 N. Find the separation between them.
3. Calculate the number of electrons in 20nC of charge.
4. If three charges +1µC, +1µC and -1µC are placed on the vertices of an
equilateral triangle ABC of side 10 cm then find the force on charge -1
µC due to other two charges.
5. Two identical charges, Q each, are kept at a distance r from each other.
A third charge q is placed on the line joining the above two charges
such that all the three charges are in equilibrium. What is the
magnitude, sign and position of the charge q?
6. Charges of +5µC, +10µC and -10µC are placed in air at the corners A,
B and C of an equilateral triangle ABC, having each side equal to 5 cm.
Determine the resultant force on charge A.
7. What is permittivity. Write its SI unit and dimensional formula.
8. Name and define the SI unit of charge.
9. State the superposition principle for electrostatic force on a charge due
to a number of charges.
10. Two metallic spheres A and B kept
on insulating stands are in contact
with each other. A positively
charged rod P is brought near the
sphere A as shown in figure. The
two spheres are separated from
each other, and the rod P is
removed. What will be the nature of
charges on spheres A and B?
