Course Objectives:
After completing the course, the participant will be able to:
1. Describe the normal anatomy and physiology of hearing and describe the physics of sound
2. Demonstrate an understanding of normal child cognitive, speech and language development
3. Identify risk factors for hearing loss along the age continuum
4. Discuss the pathology associated with types of hearing loss
5. Discuss screening techniques and describe a thorough clinical hearing assessment on a client and
interpret results appropriately
6. Develop a holistic approach to the management of clients with a hearing loss
