celebrates neutrality in the form of genderless fashion and in
2007, started the first gender-neutral unisex collection.each
collection off six interchangeable pieces, and his fealty to the
unisex and one long, narrow silhouette, makes it difficult to read
pleasure into his clothes. Though Hourani sent out some
interesting-looking sculpted vest tops and dresses, this collection
walked back some of the freedom of shape he explored last time
out. And while the addition of cotton shirting and denim was
welcome this season, the new stuff lacked the sense of warmth
that made his Fall clothes so appealing.

SS19
Gender neutrality was at the forefront of this label’s SS19 show, with bold prints such as red and
white stripes and a glorious cowhide design that would work on any and all genders. Found in
prestige shopping locations across the globe such as Dover Street Market in New York, Galeries
Lafayette in Paris, Opening Ceremony in Tokyo, Matches in London, as well as Net-A-Porter and
Ssense online, Ekhaus Latta designer Mike Eckhaus explains ‘we relate to gender identity a little
less aggressively. It’s less binary and I think that’s something we have always felt attuned to.’
There were sheer T-shirts and dresses of spiderweb crochet, but such whimsical looks were vastly
outnumbered by ones more matter-of-fact. Jeans dip-dyed and tie-dyed and trimmed with fringe;
color-blocked knits in cool pastels; fluttery plaid dresses and polos in an earth-toned floral
jacquard.
Check outerwear in a dense, mesh-like material made a particularly strong impression; so did the
aforementioned tailoring, especially the jackets, shown on male models, which featured giant
dropped shoulders and cinched waists. This was a distinctive silhouette.
AGENDER
Agender’s pieces are strong, pulling in both stereotypically masculine and feminine traits. The label’s
silhouettes are flattering, flawlessly genderless, and elude to the authentic craftsmanship of its
designers .

SCARVES & STOLES
Scarves and stoles are not mere add-ons for a wedding
function. They’ve finally made a permanent place into
the wardrobes of Indian men, who now wear them over
casual outfits as well. Be it a colorful knitted stole over a
white linen kurta and your favorite blue jeans, or a
dainty champagne-coloured scarf in chiffon, with an all-
black formal attire, these flowy pieces of textile are here
to stay.
