Outside a Mall, a car stops and a dashing young man comes out. As he is walking in he
feels a tug and looks down and is shocked by what he sees.

A young woman in her mid twenties, dressed in a tattered corset and torn leggings
and broken 6 inch high heels with dust covered hair and face and yet a slim,
attractive face and body is seated amongst the beggars and begging. She looks to be
in a daze.

Girl “Mooh phaad ke kya dekh raha hai, kuch paisa de”

Man “Tum, Jyoti ho na?”

Girl (in daze) “Kaun Jyoti, paisa de na, bhookh lagi hai”

Man (gets a realization and takes out a 500 and waves it) “Ek photo lene degi toh
poora 500 tera”

The girl snatches the 500 and strikes a model like pose, as she stands up to pose, she
stumbles and the man helps her.. He clicks a few quick snaps on hs cell phone …

Cut to:

Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook and twitter are abuzz with news of how an ex
supermodel and actress, Jyoti was found begging outside a mall.

The news soon comes that an NGO, Women’s Help Group has taken her into their fold
to help her re establish herself and an appeal has been made to all friends and family
to come meet her and help her recover.

A Poolside of a bungalow, decked up in lights, Music Playing …

Groups of very fashionable people mingling and walking around in small groups,
waiters circulating with drinks and food.

(10 female juniors, 8 members of our crew, Rishabh, Jyoti, Shirin).

Shirin Toh tum wapaas London jaa rahi ho

Jyoti Haan, buss kabhi India dekha nahi thha, toh 15 dinn ghoomne aa gayi

thhi. Aur 3 din baad wapaas ja rahi hoon.

Shirin Toh kaisa laga humara Mumbai

Jyoti Mumbai toh kamal hai. Thoda dirty hai, I mean compared to London,
lekin kya energy hai yahaan. Dinn mei kaam, raat mei party, log sote kab
hai yahaan.

Shirin Kuch din aur ruk jao, phir kabhi jaa nahi paoge

Jyoti Aur karungi kya, Mumbai is expensive. Yahaan rehna aasan nahi hai

Suddenly a male voice pops up from behind Jyoti and she turns as he speaks.

Rishabh Modelling karo, acting karo, aap itni khoobsurat ho, pal bhar mei star
bann jaogi. (he offers his hand) Rishabh malhotra, Shirin ka dost.

Jyoti smiles and shakes his hand and Shirin says

Shirin Waise Jyoti, Rishabh Mumbai ka famous celebrity photographer hai. Jisko
haanth lagaya wo star.

Jyoti Really (Shirin shakes her head in a yes) aur aapko lagta hai ki mai Star
bann sakti hoon.

Rishabh Bilkul (Rishabh begins to walk around Jyoti in a circle, looking at her
from top to bottom and keeps muttering) long legs, great hips, slim but
curvy, narrow waist, Shapely chest, khoobsoorat shakal, madhosh
 aankhen, nashile honth, aapko toh upparwaale ne fursat se banaya hai.
Camera se door reh ke aap apni khoobsoorti se na insaafi kar rahi hai.

Jyoti Aap mazak to nahi kar rahe hai

Rishabh (Takes out a business card and hands it to her) Bilkul nahi, ye raha mera
card. Aap kal studio aa jaiye, mai aapka portfolio bana dunga. Phir aap
dekhiye, kaise aap sitaro ke beech apni jageh bana leti hai.

Jyoti Thank you. Mai bilkul aungi kal (turning to Shirin) Tum lekar jaogi na
mujhe.

(Shirin nods a yes … rishabh takes their leave and moves on)

Jyoti (turns to Shirin & she is super excited) Ye sach mei huya ?

Shirin (nods an excited yes) Tujhe pata hai mai kabse Rishab se portfolio
banana ke liye mai kab se try kar rahi hoon, lekin usne nahi kiya aur
tujhe milte hi, tujhe bol diya.

Jyoti Kyu nahi banaya tera

Shirin Lambi kahani short mei. Rishabh ussika portfolio banata jo uske lage ki
star bann sakta hai. Aur pata nahi kaise, uska judgement saahi nikalta
hai. Lagta hai ab teri baari hai uddhne ki (she makes a hand gesture of
flying). Chal lets celebrate … (She waves to the bartender) … Shots pls

Bartender Kaunsa shots Shirin.

Shirin Koi bhi, buss usme alcohol bhad ke ho.

The girls laugh and begin their shots and Jyoti says, Kal hi mummy papa se baat karti

hoon aur kuch din yahan reh he dekh leti hoon. Shirin says Iss baat pe ek aur cheers

and the girls take another shot.

(Living room)

Jyoti (on the phone) Lekin Dad, ye bahut bada mauka hai, Rishabh Arora bahut
bada naam hai dad, aap google kar ke dekh lo.

(Voice on phone) Jyoti beta, mujhe sab pata hai Film Industry mei kya hota
hai, sirf India mei nahi, yahaan London mei aur duniya mei
kahin bhi. Meri beti itna padhai karne ke baad wahaan darr
darr thokar khate phire, log usko ulta seedha offer de …
Nahi, mai jeete je ye dekh nahi sakta. Tu wapaas aa jaa

Jyoti Papa, buss teen mahine de dijiye mujhe. Bahut badi

opportunity hai, mujhe ye nahi khona hai. Aap batao papa,
aapko khushi nahi hogi meri hoardings dekh ke London mei,
duniya bharr mei

(voice on the phone) Yehi toh nahi dekhna hai mujhe, har hafte kissi aur hero ke
saath gale lagkar meri beti ka poster. Aur pata nahi kya kya
hoga film mei.

Jyoti Papa, waqt badal gaya hai. Aaj sab jaante hai wo sirf
acting hai. Please papa thoda support kar dijiye

(Voice on phone) Mai ticket bhej raha hoon beta, tum turant waapas aa jao.
Mujhe kuch nahi sunna hai.

(Jyoti is left holding the disconnected phone in her hand – Suddenly she gets an email
alert – She opens the mail – It’s her ticket to London, for the next day).

She is shocked.

Suddenly she hears a voice and turns around, its Shirin, standing wearing shorts,
singlet, boots and glares (makeup done and ready)

Shirin Kya hua, tu taiyaar nahi hai, Rishabh ke paas jana hai (As jyoti
turns, Shirin is surprised) Tu aise udaas kyu ho rakkhhi

Jyoti Yaar koi fayda nahi, dad ne mana kar diya, mujhe London waapas
jaana hoga.

Shirin Paagal hai kya, chal aaj meeting kar lete, phir dekhte hai
Jyoti Yaar yahan kuch din rehne ke liye bhi paise lagenge aur
photoshoot ke liye bhi. Rishabh free mei thodi karega? Aur dad se
paise maanga toh unhone ticket bhej diya (She shows Shirin the
ticket)

Shirin (looks at the ticket and starts laughing, Jyoti is puzzled) Arre dad
ne paise hi bheje hai.

Jyoti Matlab

Shirin 72,000 ka ticket hai, cancel kar de. 60 – 65 thousand toh mil hi
jayenge, Usse tera kuch din ka kharcha nikal jayega. Kuch din aur
reh le mere saath, wo kharcha bhi bach jayega. Aur jahaan tak
Rishabh ki baat hai, mai baat kar lungi, wo baad mei paisa le lega.
Chal abhi tu taiyaar ho.

Jyoti (Still in shock) Ticket cancel kar doon. Dad mar dalenge. Tu
paagal hai kya?

Shirin Nahi maarenge. Ek baat bata, Wo chahte hai na kit u waapas aa

jaaye London. (Jyoti nods) Toh phir ticket bhejenge. Hai na. Aur
star bann gayi toh unko London red carpet premiere pe bulana.
Dekhna kaise khush hoke aate hai. Chal get ready, maa baap aise
hi hote hai.

As jyoti goes inside Shirin shouts, Apni sabsi chhoti waali dress pehenna, rishabh ko

tere legs se pyaar hai. Shirin laughs, Jyoti blushes and walks into the bedroom.

Shirin Arre sharmaati kyu hai, hum models ka sharer humara showroom
hai, jitna dikhega utna bikega. Jo dikhta hai, wo bikta hai.

 SCENE 03

(2 and 1/2 minutes)

(Shooting Floor)

The girls enter a shooting floor, lights are being put up on huge stands, large
reflectors are being put up and a crane rig is being setup on a track..

Many men are doing their job and a gaffer is supervising everything. The girls enter
and ask a helper for Rishabh.

Shirin Hello, bhaisaab, ye Rishabhji kahaan milenge

Man (looking both girls up and down and pointing to a Vanity Van) Vanity Van
mei, udhar, pehla darwaza.

Shirin Thank you

The girls move on towards the Vanity van. Inside the vanity van, quick cuts of the girls
making last minute changes to their hair, touch ups to face, adjusting their dresses,
Jyoti pulling her hem down and Shirin doing the opposite as in making her’s shorter
and winking at Jyoti to do the same … The girls look at each other and Shirin knocks
on the van door.

In close shot we see a man open his eyes and say “Kaun?” and Shirin answers “Shirin
aur Jyoti”…

Rishabh says “Come in”

The girls enter and from their POV we see Rishabh seated. He looks at the girls and
asks them to sit down.

Rishabh So jyoti, ready for your portfolio?

Jyoti Actually, Rishabh ek problem hai. Dad ne mana kar diya hai.

Rishabh To tum nahi karoge

Jyoti Na na, actually mai zid karke India mei ruk rahi hoon. Lekin Dad ka koi
financial support nahi hoga. To mai aapka portfolio ka fees nahi de
paungi. Mai soch rahi thhi ki kuch din kaam kar loon, chhota mota, phir
fees akaktha hote hi portfolio bana loongi
Rishabh chhota mota kaam. (Shock & anger) Mera chuna huya talent chhota mota
kaam karegi aur apni career shuru hone se pehle khatam kar legi. No No
No, absolute no.

Jyoti Toh phir

Rishabh Mai tumhara portfolio banaunga, paise baad mei de dena. I have
confidence in you. Ek mahine baad paise de dena. Portfolio ke baad
kaam toh milega hi. But no chhota mota kaam. Only bada kaam.

Jyoti (surprised and happy) Aap karenge ye mere liye?

Rishabh Rishabh agar kissi ke talent pe bharosa karta hai, toh 100% karta hai. Yes
mai aapka portfolio karunga aur 2 din baad hi karunga. Payment aap ek
mahine baad de dena.

Jyoti Ji bilkul, mai bilkul kar dungi, Thank you so much

Rishabh (smiles) aur aapni dost se thoda seekho. Dekho wo kaise baithi hai,
confidently aur aap legs cross karke apni beauty ko chupa rahi ho.
Modelling hai baby, koi aapko sexy bole toh woh compliment hai.

Shirin Mai aapko sexy lagi (she leans forward as she speaks with a naughty
smile)

Rishabh (looks at Jyoti) Dekho dekho, yehi seekhna hai tumhe (he gets up and so
do the girls – Rishabh holds out his hand and Jyoti shakes it) Chalo, kal
aa jaana costume fittings ke liye … (Shirin leans forward and hugs
Rishabh and he hugs her back and whispers) Tum bhi sexy ho, aapni dost
ko train kar do. Mai tumhaare saath bhi jaldi kaam karunga.

The girls smile and walk out. As the walk out of the set, Shirin stops and looks around.

The lightmen are working, some are looking at them. Shirin hugs Jyoti and says

Shirin Kitna achcha hai na Rishabh, koi aise portfolio nahi karta.

Jyoti Haan achcha hai (But she looks a little confused)

Shirin Kya hua, tu kya soch rahi hai

Jyoti (Hesitantly speaking) Yaar wo mujhe aise dekh raha thha jaise ki mai ek
ladki nahi hoon – ek property hoon. Sirf sex appeal, sexy, ye kya hota
hai, adayen kuch nahi hoti hai kya
Shirin Arre bewakoof, wo busy aaadmi hai. Ye nahi bolega jo tujhme already
hai, jaise ki aadayen, wo bolega jiska tujhmei kami hai, as in sexiness
(Shirin does a twirl, her skirt flying as she does it) Ye sexiness. Matlab ki
tu sexy lage toh tujhe khushi mile. (She stops twirling) Samjhi?

Jyoti laughs and nods yes.

Jyoti Yaar log dekh rahe hai

Shirin Ye hi toh baat hai, dekhne de. Kal set pe sau log dekhenge aur padso
cinema mei lakho, karoro. Chalo karo mere saath.

The girls laugh and begin twirling.

 SCENE 04

(3 minutes)

(MONTAGE with Dialogues – Natural Ad Lib dialogues, sharply edited)

1. Jyoti at home, on call trying to call her parents and no one is answering.
2. Shirin and Jyoti going through the shoot references sent by Rishabh shortlisting
looks for Jyoti’s portfolio. Thoda nok jhok masti as Shirin keeps pushing for a
sexier look and Jyoti for a more normal look.

3. Over a drink, the girls discussing and Jyoti is very worried and sad that her
parents are not answering her calls or texts – Shirin saying, it will all get better
soon, give them time.
4. Costume trials and fittings happening.

5. Jyoti and Shirin walking into Rishabh’s office and see 2 girls leaving in tears,
abusing Rishabh – Jyoti looks pensive, Shirin dismisses them as losers who
maybe Rishabh has refused to work with. Says you cheer up, you are amongst
the chosen very few.
6. Photoshoot happening, Rishabh being flirty, yet reserved, Shirin flirting back
and encouraging Jyoti to also flirt, Jyoti remaining work focused and friendly.

7. Jyoti getting portfolio and showreel in hand.

8. Jyoti emailing and whatsapping people her portfolio and waiting for response –
marking dates in her calendar – she meets people and casting agents, everyone
says they will get back, no one reverts, she gets frustrated – speaks with Shirin
– Shirin says, its just the beginning – dates keep passing on her calendar – Jyoti
is running out of money, she checks her ATM balance 2450 left only – She calls
her parents – no response – suddenly a production house calls – they have a
festival film and the producer has liked her look for the main lead. They want
her in a bold look.

9. Shirin tells Jyoti that this producer’s last film won an award at Cannes and this
is a huge opportunity for her. She can’t let it go at any cost. She forces Jyoti to
wear a very revealing dress, telling her that the producer is known to be a
womanizer and she should make him fall in love with her – after all he is known
for having affairs with all his heroines. She also tells Jyoti that rishabh had
called and was asking for his portfolio money. Jyoti is confused and agrees.
 SCENE 05

(3 minutes)

(THE CASTING COUCH)

Jyoti enters Anurag Chhotwane’s room. Anurag is on the phone. He is speaking

loudly.

Anurag “Arre how many times, kitni baar bolu Mukesh, ki mujhe koi star
waar nahi chahiye. (Intercut Jyoti enters, he waves at her to sit
and she sits) Mai star banata hoon. Mera subject star hota hai,
kyu tumlog star star karte rehte ho. Dekhna iss baar maine jo
heroine chuna hai na, wo next Katrina hogi. (he pauses and
listens) Arre nahi nahi, naam waam abhi nahi, waqt mei sab kuch,
lekin haan, wo bhi NRI hai (Intercut Jyoti smiling slightly hoping
its her). Arre Mukhesh, iski kya face hai, kya figure hai, arre
dekho ge to pyaar ho jayega, lekin boss (he sniggers) sab ko
maloom hai ki Anurag ki heroine Anurag ki hi pyaar hoti hai (ha ha
ha … he laughs) Chalo baad mei baat karta hoon. (he keeps the
phone down).

Jyoti gets up and comes towards him, Anurag also walks around his table – she
offers a handshake, he hugs her and hugs her tight. She is uncomfortable but
smiles and as he kisses her on both cheeks.

Anurag Jyoti, achcha laga tumse milkar (walking around to his chair while
Jyoti keeps standing) You are more sexy in person (He smiles)
thoda chal ke dikhao, fashion model ki tarah, maloom hai na,
kamar matkake, hip swaying, like fashion model

(Jyoti hesitates) Abhi, yahaan?

Anurag Yes, abhi. Lead role, my heroine, Anuraag ki heroine, Story mei
fashion model hai. So chalo, chalo, walk, walk …

Jyoti begins to walk and realizes Anurag is watching her from head to toe, he
keeps saying good, good, more hip sway.. Haan now turn, walk back … achcha
hai. Sit, sit he motions.

Anurag dekho, I like you. Photo dekh ke hi mai samajh gaya heroine waali
baat hai. Kya face, kya figure, like they say in Hindi, hirni jaise
chaal.
Jyoti Lekin sir, aapne mera audition toh liya hi nahi

Anurag Audition se kya hoga. Acting koi bhi newcomer ko aati kahaan hai.
(laughs) Sikhana toh mujhe hi hai. Tumne kabhi Cannes mei award
jeeta hai, tumhei kya pata… Jo tumhare paas hai wo hai raw
material, khoobsurat shakal, sexy sharer, baaki mai karwa lunga.
Buss ab se film khatam hone tak tum mujhe time doge.

Jyoti Sir, time? Kitna time?

Anurag Poora time. Ab se tum jagoge aur soege mere saath. Jab bhi
mujhe time milega mai tumhei kaam sikhaunga. Payment achchi r
milegi toh doosra kuch karne ki zaroorat nahi, aur ek baar film ne
award jeet liya, phir mudh ke dekhna nahi.

Jyoti Sir mai samjhti hoon ki bahut badi opportunity hai mere liye, lekin
mai sab kuch chchod doon. Aur soege ke mere saath meaning, do I
have to sleep with you for this?

Anurag tumhei khush hona chahiye ki maine tumko chuna. Tumhei pata
hai ki tumhaare jageh ke liye waiting list kitni lambi hai? Bolo
(Jyoti nods). Ofcourse aap mere saath soyenge, ye aapka kaam hai
ki sote, jaagte mai sirf aapke bare sochu, warne koi aur aake
aapki jageh le jayega. Samjhi.

Jyoti gets flashes of Shirin telling her how big this is, of not letting it go at any
cost. Flashes of how little she has left in her ATM. Flashes of her family not
responding to her pleas. She nods a yes.

Anurag (Smiling) to achchi baat mei deir kyu. Chalo shuru karte hai.
(Smiles) apne kapde utaar do

Jyoti hesitates and Anurag walks upto her and whispers, “Aapka sharer sexy
hai, toh dikhane mei sharam kyu karr rahi ho. Waise bhi actor ko besharam
hona zaroori hai”

Jyoti slowly begins to undress. Close shot of her top going over her head, close
shot of her jeans falling to her ankles, closeup of Jyoti’s face showing
hestitation, fear and disgust.

Anurag is walking all around her, looking at her from top to bottom and singing,
“Baar baar dekho, hazaar baar dekho, ye dekhne ki cheez hai humaari dilruba”
He says, “baaki bhi utaaro, come on” and Jyoti’s face changes (a flash of her
dads message, Come back, we will be with you) to anger and she starts wearing
her clothes again.

Anuraag “Arre kya hua”

Jyoti Agar mujhe aise, casting couch karke kaam karna hai toh nahi
chahiye ye kaam. Thookti hoon mei aise kaam pe. Thodi deir ke
liye mai kamzoor ho gayii thhi, lekin mere sanskar aur charitra ye
nahi hai.

Anuraag Charitra se kaam nahi milta hai, sone se milta hai

Jyoti Sab tere jaise leechar nahi hai. Agar talent aur mehnat se milega
toh theek hai warna ghar waapas chali jaungi.

She storms off in anger.

(Jyoti & Shirin’s house)

Jyoti sitting with Shirin (we join scene midway)

Shirin Arre yaar Jyoti, sab Saale (beep) aise hi hai. Lekin tu karr leti, kya jaata?
Itna bada kaam bhi toh hai.

Jyoti nahi karna mujhe ye sab. Mai actress hoon, randi (beep) nahi. (pauses
thoughtfully) lekin ab paise khatam ho gaye. Kya karoon?

Shirin (seriously) mere paise bhi khatam hone aaye. Chal tu mujhe uss director
ka mobile number de. Mai randi (beep) bann jaungi

(Jyoti is shocked and Shirin laughs making it a joke – Jyoti also laughs).

Shirin (continuing) Chhod de tension aur taiyaar ho le. Kal goa jaana hai. Kaam
aaya hai, Rishabh se. Mujhe aur tujhe kal Goa mei looktest ke liye jaana
hai. Do din ka dedh lakh.

Jyoti (happy) sach mei?

Shirin Haan re baba. Aur sunn goa hai, bikini pack kar lena. Wahaan aunty
bannke mat ghoomna.

Jyoti smiles and nods

 SCENE 07

(1 minutes)

(Goa)

Montages of Goa… beaches, tourists, parties, exterior of a 5 star hotel in the morning.

Inside the hotel, in a room … a woman half covered in a bedsheet, back open and
exposed is sleeping on her left side. The trolley turns in half round and as it reaches
the the girl’s face we see Jyoti open her eyes.

She seems groggy and has difficulty opening her eyes. She blinks again and again and
surprise and shock register on her face.

Flashes come to her from last night, of her and Shirin at a party with 2 men, of
drinking shots, of laughing, of Shirin doing a close dance with one man, of the other
man pulling her close and her shaking him off … of someone offering her a drink, of
her feeling groggy, of a man having sex with her … She comes back to reality with a
bang.

(getting up with a jerk and realizing that she is naked under the bedsheet, she looks
around and her clothes are strewn around the floor, another man’s clothes are also
there. She hears a noise and realizes that a man is in the shower. She wraps her
bedsheet tight around herself and looks for her phone, tears streaming down her eyes
and cheeks. She picks up her phone and dials a number)

Jyoti Rishabh, they raped me …. (sobs) Saale ne mujhe chori chupe drugs
dekar meri izzat loot li. (sobs then toughens up) Mai Chhodungi nahi
saale ko, abhi jaa rahi hoon police mei.

(Midway)

Rishabh Tu paagal hai kya, police complain karne jaane waali thhi. Tujhe
pata hai ki blood test mei kya dikhta ?

Jyoti Kya?

Rishabh Tere system mei drugs aur alcohol level … Chalo maan liya kit u
bolti ki tujhe anjaane mei drugs diya gaya, lekin unka dedh lakh
ka payment to tera hi account mei aaya, hai na? (turns to Shirin)
aur tera kya chakkar hai, tere saath kuch hua toh nahi?

Shirin (looks down and a tear streams down) Mere saath bhi yehi huya.

Rishabh Tujhe bhi drugs diya? Behosh thhe kya tum dono? (Pauses – the
girls look down) Dono ko akathhe kaise koi drug kar sakta hai?
(pauses and looks at them) Ye koi paise nikalne ka chakkar nahi

pe release kar deta hoon. (Jyoti is shocked). Aa jaana jab bhi

dunga aur tera pehla payment details bhi.

Jyoti (Crying) Ye kyu kar rahe ho

Shirin Hum barbad ho jayenge. Ye kabhi London nahi laut payegi.

Rishabh (cruel smile) kyunki jabse tujhe dekha mai samajh gaya ki tu top
ki item hai. Ab toh tu meri property hai. Jab bolunga, aa jaana.
Phir koi problem bhi nahi hogi aur kamai bhi chalega, aur mai
khush rahun to achcha kaam bhi dunga. Bola thha star bana dunga
toh wo toh mai karunga, lekin mera sevah karte rehna, Miss Jyoti,
warna (waving his mobile phone) … Internet ke zamane mei
London buss ek second duur hai.

Jyoti Tera kaam ka anjaam tujhe zaroor milega Rishabh, to kutte ke

maut marega … (She breaks down and rushes out of the room).

(At a hotel reception)

Jyoti (very regretfully and sad) Chche yaar, I feel so dirty. Ye Rishabh
ne humko dhandewaali bana diya.

Shirin Jyoti, ek baat toh hai. Rishabh ne achcha kaam dena bhi toh chalu
kar diya. Peechle do mahine mei tu ne kam se kam 8 – 10 achcha
shoot kiya hoga. (pauses and sees Jyoti angry) Lekin wohi chakkar
uska, har do hafte koi na koi client aa jaata hai. Itna toh mai koi
boyfriend ke saath nahi soyi jitna uske clients ke saath.

Jyoti Waapas jaane ke baad mai teen baar naha loon yaa chaar baar, I
still feel so dirty.

Suddenly a handsome young man passes by them in the lobby and suddenly
turns and speaks to them.

Aditya Excuse me

Jyoti and Shirin turn, Jyoti with an expression of disdain.

Aditya (speaking to Jyoti) Tum yehi ho na (he opens a magazine that’s

curled in his hand) Mai Rishabh photographer ko call karne waala
thha tumhaare liye.

Jyoti Kyu?

Aditya (Surprised) Oh sorry, aapne pehchana nahi, mai Aditya, Aditya

Sabarwal.

Jyoti (Shocked) Sandfisher Aditya!

Aditya (smiles and says) “Ji, mai wohi hoon. Waise mai aapse

(She offers her hand and he shakes it, warm and friendly and nods at Shirin and
walks away. As soon as he enters the elevator, Shirin and Jyoti scream loudly
with joy and hug each other. Breaking the hug Jyoti and Shirin look at each
other, incredulous).

Shirin Pata nahi, lekin jo bhi huya gazab ho gaya

1. Jyoti sitting up awake in bed – clock shows 8 am. She has her mobile in her
hand. She says “Kar doon?”
Shirin Says “nahi, bahut desperate ho jayega. Thodi deir wait kar le”

2. Clock shows 9 am – Same scene repeat – position change.

3. 10 am – Same scene repeated – position change.

4. 11 am – same scene – Jyoti says “Ab toh kar deti hoon” … Shirin smiles and says
“Chal kar le”… Jyoti immediately begins typing … .
CLOSE SHOT … “Dear Sir (deletes sir) Aditya, as per our conversation yesterday,
please suggest when and where we can meet?”
Shirin walks up and reads it and says “Bhej de”. She gives a thumbs up sign.
Jyoti sends the message and folds her hands in prayer with her phone inside
and eyes closed. Almost immediately her phone beeps. It shows whatsapp from
Aditya “My office, today, 7pm. Is it good for you?” … She immediately replies
“yes” and Shirin stops her and takes the phone and deletes the message and
types “Ek chhota si shoot hai aaj, mai aadha ek ghanta late ho jaaun toh
chalega?” …. Jyoti shakes her head saying no but Shirin sends it. Jyoti says
“kyu?” and shirin says “Dekh abhi” and immediately a reply comes “Waise toh
wait nahi karte, lekin tumhaare liye khushi khushi karr lunga” … Jyoti snatches
the phone and types “Thank you” and both girls hug again. Shirin smiles and
says “Usko pyaar ho gaya hai tujhse” … Jyoti laughs and says “Chal paagal” …

5. A montage of Jyoti and Aditya meeting regularly – at his office – his terrace – at
a bar – suddenly Jyoti Is in newspapers and hoardings as the Sandfisher model
and one day suddenly after saying cheers Aditya gets down on one knee and
says “I love you Jyoti, kyat um bhi mujhse” … A shocked Jyoti smiles and says
“Yess, mai bhi tumse pyaar karta hoon. I love you too”…..
6. In Intercut Jyoti and Shirin still get messages and calls from Rishabh and have
to go service his clients. Jyoti often fights/ begs/ cajoles Rishabh but he is
relentless.

7. Jyoti often stays back with Aditya – they begin to sleep together --- In intercut
Jyoti wakes up beside strangers and one day …
 8. Aditya kisses Jyoti and leaves for work and suddenly she feels a strange
sensation – she rushes to the washroom and vomits …. She is surprised and then
she gets a realization – she opens her purse looking for something – unable to
find it she turns it over and finds it – it’s a pregnancy test kit – she tries it and
the result is positive ….

Jyoti calls up Shirin and says happily says “Baby, mai pregnant hoon.”

Shirin (Shocked) kya

Jyoti Aaj hi mai Aditya ko bataungi, abhi call karke

Shirin Bahut achchi khabar hai, lekin abhi call mat kar, Shaam ko milke bol.
Zyaada achcha lagega usko.

Shirin Okay, tu theek bol rahi hai

Break 01 – approx 15 mins

In this segment we show Jyoti speaking with Shirin and rishabh and realizing that this
was Rishab’s plan all along, Shirin even tells her that rishab had blackmailed Shirin to
do this, she apologizes and says she had no choice bcos rishabh has intimate photos
and videos of her and blackmails her. She also tells Jyoti that she was drugged with a
combination of a date rape drug and an aphrodisiac and Jyotis sex tape and photos
are now with rishabh. He had forced Shirin to make it for him. Jyoti gets flashes
Shirin and the other man watching and recording her sex and taking pics and laughing.
She is devastated.
Back in Mumbai Jyoti confronts Rishabh and he immediately blackmails her and says,
that he had invested in her and now its her time to make good on that or he will
release her tapes to the world. She can go to the cops if she wants but he already has
kept the tapes with someone who will release everything if Rishabh is arrested. Jyoti
begs him to not destroy his life and he says, Work for me, once or twice and week and
u will keep earning money and no one will know anything. These contacts will also get
you work.

Now we go thru a phase of life where Jyoti works hard and slowly gets work but
against her will, Jyoti is forced to work as an escort for rishabh. She begins to
mentally break down. At this stage Shirin becomes a support for Jyoti as both are
going thru the same pain and Jyoti cant share this with anyone else. But this leads to
Jyoti picking up on Shirin’s drug habit and she becomes dependent on drugs and
alcohol to ease the pain.

These are expensive habits and they need more money and the bad cycle of mental
breakdown, drugs, alcohol, need takes over. Just when life seems to be going
downhill at a party, Jyoti meets Sanjeev, a businessman and owner of a top fashion
brand. Sanjeev and Jyoti become friends and fall in love and life starts looking up for
Jyoti. Sanjeev is about to launch her as a brand ambassador for his fashion brand and
she is to get 25 lakhs for it and she is happy. But Rishabh’s demands keep going up
and Jyoti who is now off drugs starts vomiting one morning.

A pregnancy test confirms that she is pregnant and she tells Rishabh that she cant do
this work and Rishabh says ok, come meet me once – I have heard how good an
experience you are and I want to experience that for myself before I let you go. She
begs and pleads but he is firm and she has to have sex with him before she goes to
meet Sanjeev.

She cries all thru it – silent tears and then she scrubs and washes as she bathes as if
trying to rub the dirt and guilt off her soul before she tells Sanjeev about their child
to be.

At home in the evening Jyoti tells Sanjeev that she is pregnant. Sanjeev angrily says
“Abort the child”. A shocked Jyoti says what and Sanjeev says, “I don’t even know
whose child it is, which hotel room it was conceived in?”

Absolute Shock and Horror on Jyoti’s face and we freeze.

BREAK 02 – approx. 26 minutes

Sanjeev tells her that while he was on his way here, he got these – he shows her his
phone and on it she sees Rishabh has sent him all her pics and videos. A begging and
pleading Jyoti tells Sanjeev that she was forced. It’s not something she ever wanted
to do. She even offers to do a DNA test but Sanjeev flatly refuses. He says even if the
child is accidentally theirs, he or his child cant associate with the image she has if
these pics ever went public. He says he is fond of her and sympathetic to her problem
but he has to pull out of the deal with her because his brand can’t associate with this
image of hers. He says come to the office and we will offer you a decent termination
payment. Use it to rebuild your life.

As he leaves Jyoti breaks down and cries. Suddenly the phone rings and it shows
Rishabh calling. She does not answer. The call keeps coming, she does not answer. A
whatsapp message comes, its from Rishabh and its the address of an abortion clinic.
She is shocked and she calls him. Rishabh taunts her saying, you can never leave me.
You are my investment and your body belongs to me.

He tells her that the had then messaged Sanjeev all the details and that’s how he
knew that Sanjeev would refuse to accept the child. He tells her to abort the child
and come meet him.

Jyoti curses him and says fuck off … you have played your hand – you have sent the
pics to sanjeev and destroyed my life – I don’t care who you send it to now. I am not
being blackmailed anymore. And if you dare do anything now, see how I put you in
jail. She bluffs saying she has taken all the proof from Sanjeev abt how Rishabh
messaged him and has also recorded their call. Rishabh is pissed but he shuts up.

Now Jyoti has to start all over again and the journey is harder than ever but Shirin
supports her and one day at an audition at a top production house, Jyoti is seated
with many others when the receptionist tells her that the boss wants to see her. A
surprised Jyoti is led to the Director’s cabin and he tells her that he has absolutely
loved her look test and he wants to launch her in the film as the heroine, “Would she
be interested?” … A joyous Jyoti accepts and the production house begins her routine
… everyday is a maze of gym trainers, yoga trainers, stylists, makeup artists, hair
dressers and the lot …

In parallel, Jyoti is given a new flat by the company and she shifts in there with Shirin
but Rishabh still extorts Shirin and she still does jobs for Rishabh. But there there is
no income and often Shirin tells Jyoti, why don’t you come with me, not thru Rishabh.
There are some direct clients I have, good guys who won’t ever disclose your identity,
but you will make some easy money. They are handsome and smart also, you may
even enjoy it, she says and laughs.. Jyoti shuts her up and shames her… says you
should be getting out of this yourself and you are pulling me back in. The girls have an
argument and Jyoti tells Shirin that immediately after her launch she will file a case
against rishabh and put him behind bars. Shirin tries to convince her to let it be but
Jyoti does not agree and an angry Shirin leaves the house.

Next day Jyoti is calling Shirin and getting no answer. She keeps trying, the day ends
and so does the next day. Frustrated and worried she calls Rishabh, who also does not
was answer. She goes to his studio, he denies having seen Shirin, they have an
argument, Jyoti leaves.

Next Morning, its press launch day, everything is going on at a hectic pace and stylist,
makeup, hair, all at work … PRO standing and telling her how she should answer
questions when suddenly there is some Hulla outside and suddenly cops barge in. PRO
asks what and the cops say, news dekho. As the TV is turned on we news of rishabh’s
murder and news says Jyoti was the last person to meet him. CCTV from his studio
shows them arguing. Jyoti’s old problems with rishabh have also somehow been
leaked to the media… Jyoti is arrested.

BREAK 03 approx 36 minutes

This next segment is about 6 months later when Jyoti is released. Evidence against
her was weak. And at the time of the murder determined by the Post mortem, Jyoti
was with her team getting ready for the launch, so she is acquitted. But the stain of
the murder accused and the public memory of her leaked prostitution tapes lives on
in public memory. Friends refuse to meet her, no one wants to work with her, she has
no money, Shirin alone helps her and Jyoti shifts in with Shirin.

Frustrated and lost and not having work, thou Jyoti always has a needling thought,
who really killed Rishabh and who tried to frame her for it, that same person must
have released her tapes and pics also.

Jyoti begins to investigate and she meets a lot of girls who gradually begin to reveal
to Jyoti that a lot of them have been exploited and its not ended with Rishabh’s
death. They are still being forced but this time via whatsapp only and there is neither
a name or a face, just a number, who seems to have all their details. Jyoti takes the
number. It’s late in the night and she calls up Shirin and tells her she has made a
breakthrough. Shirin asks her where she is and Jyoti tells her, she wants to save
money and is walking home. Shirin tells her its not safe so late and Jyoti says, so
much has happened to me, what else can happen.

Suddenly Jyoti is hit on the head, hard from the back and she falls

BREAK 4 – 41 mins
When Jyoti wakes up she is lying in a local train and its early morning. She tries to get
up, she is drowsy and feels drugged. She is unable to remember anything. She has
nothing with her, no purse, no mobile nothing. She somehow gets up and gets down at
the next station.

From then on its all a blur … somehow in the haze she lands up outside the mall
walking druggedly, often falling beside the road, dozing off, walking, falling, begging
for food and water till she landed up at that mall.

CLIMAX SCENE

(3 minutes)

HOSPITAL ROOM

Close shots: Jyoti is on the bed, IV drips attached to her arm.

She slowly speaks

Jyoti “Aur phir, Subhashiniji aap aayi aur mujhe yahaan lekar aayi”

Shot opens wide to reveal a middle aged, formally dressed lady and a DCP seated on 1
side of the hospital bed. Shirin is also seated beside Jyoti.

DCP “Aapke paas wo mobile number hai, jisse ladkiyo ko whatsapp jaati
thhi?”

Jyoti Nahi sir, mujhe dhundla dhundla yaad hai ki jab mujhe hosh aaiyi tab
mai ek van mei thhi aur 2 – 3 log mujhe kuch injection de rahe the …
unhone mujhe maara aur mera mobile aur purse sab chhin liya. Mere
kapde bhi phaad diye unn logo ne.
Subhashini (Consoling her) Beta hume pata hai ki unn logo ne tumhare saath bahut
badsaluki ki hai. Tumhare sharer mei itna drugs inject kiya thha ki hume
hospital mei Intravenously use drain karne pada. Aapka shareerek
shoshan bhi kiya hai unn logo ne. (She reaches forward and holds Jyoti’s
hands) Lekin ab tum theek ho aur hum unn logo ko dhund ke sazaa
dilwayenge.

DCP Agar wo number mill pata toh kaam bahut aasan ho jata, phir bhi hum
chhan been shuru kar dete hai.

Shirin (walking upto Jyoti and hugging her) Ye saab baad mei, abhi tu aaram
kar.

As Shirin hugs her tight, suddenly Jyoti feels something and she breaks the hug and
says, “ek second” (looking at Subhashini she says) “Aapka phone dijiye na please”

Everyone looks on Shocked as Jyoti reaches inside her blouse and pulls out a piece of
paper …. It is crumpled and almost torn.

As she opens it Shirin asks “Ye kya hai?”

Jyoti (opening the paper and dialing the number written on the phone) Wo
ladki ne ek kagaz pe number likh kar diya thha aur maine rakh liya thha.
Jaise hi tu ne hug kiya wo kagaz dab gayi aur mujhe yaad aaya. (She
dials the number)

As everyone watched keenly, the phone rings inside the room.

In 1 ring, it shuts off before anyone can make out where it rang…

As everyone looks around, there is renewed tension in the room. Shirin like the others
is looking here and Jyoti dials again.

As soon as the phone rings again and everyone turns, Shirin begins to run. 2 lady
constables catch her. A stunned Jyoti looks on as they take the phone out of Shirin’s
pocket.
Shirin (Suddenly shouting at Jyoti) Itni khujli kyu hai tujhme? Achchi khashi
kama rahi thhi, lekin nahi, tujhe pyaar hona thha. Wo bhoot utara..

Jyoti (stunned) Wo tu ne kiya, Sanjeev ke saath

Shirin Haan, haan, maine hi kiya … Lekin tu sudhri kahan. Rishabh se jhagda
karke kaam hi chhod diya. Pata hai mera kitna nuksaan huya. Tu meri
top item thhi. Mahine mei 5 - 6 dinn ke kaam ke liye tu bhi aur mai bhi
lakho mei kama rahe thhe. (she quietens down) Lekin maine bola, jaane
do. (Shouting) Lekin tu jaane nahi deti. Rishabh ko arrest karane chali
thhi. (Softly) Arre wo arrest hota toh mera naam bol hi deta.

Mujhe majbooran usse maarne pada, lekin uska maut ka zimmewaar tu

hi hai.

Kuch mahino baad, tu case se riha ho kar aayi toh maine tujhe aapna
liya. Ab mai khud business chala rahi thhi. Rishabh ke case se seekh
gaayi thhi ki middleman kamzoori bann sakta hai. Lekin tu wahaan bhi
ghoos gayi.

Arre chain se raha nahi jaata hai kya tujhse. Phir hamla karwane pada.
Wo jo mere bande thhe na, jinhone tujhe drugs diya, wo tera rape karke
murder karne waale thhe, lekin maine unko samjhaya, ki jaane do,
behosh hai drugs mei, jo karna hai karke zinda chhor do.

Jyoti Tu ne mera rape karwaya. Tu ladki hokar bhi aise kaise kar sakti hai. Le
jaiye isse, mai isse dekh bhi nahi sakti

Shirin (shouting as she is being led out) Galti meri thhi. Marwa dena chahiye
thha tujhe.

Jyoti closes her eyes as a tear runs down it and Shubhashini reaches forward and holds

her hand.
