Chapter 1

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

INTRODUCTION

As stated by the MONEY COACH budgeting is the process of creating a plan to spend
your money. This spending plan is called a budget. Creating this spending plan allows you to determ-
ine in advance whether you will have enough money to do the things you need to do or would like to
do. If you don’t have enough money to do everything you would like to do, then you can use this
planning process to prioritize your spending and focus your money on the things that are more
important to you. The moral of budgeting is to help yourself keep track of the things you spend on,
the more you know about budgeting the more wise you’ll become. Becoming more money wise
means you’ll be in control of how you spend your money.

Since budgeting allows you to create a spending plan for your money, it ensures that
you will always have enough money for the things you need and the things that are important to
you.l following a budget or spending plan will also keep you out of debt or help you work your way
out of debt. the essence of budgeting is to know how much you’ve spent. So many people including
us researchers don’t know how to budget, some of the grade 11 students don’t know how to budget
with some proper guidance people will get even more literate towards money.

In the present age cash is the most valuable thing to have, continuous increment of value
influence people spending plan where the consumer buys items/services. Where in today’s generation
everything has a price. Money is a privilege most people cannot afford. Money is the epitome of
society, where money is considered the most valuable item you may posses,
Money can be defined as anything that people use to buy goods and services. Money is what
many people receive for selling their own things or services. Money is also called a liquid asset used
in the settlement of transactions. It functions based on the general acceptance of its value within the
governmental economy and internationally through foreign exchange.

A large portion of the things you do includes money related installments, in the present age
everybody doesn't have the privilege to afford the cost of what they need because of the price. With
today's prices people frequently find it difficult to maintain their needs partly because of the inflation
or their budget. Because of the prices people tend to purchase products that are low cost and
affordable for everyone, since the item is low cost the quality of the product will be affected.

With the constant inflation of prices, budgeting for students became harder for them to
manage their money. Since the student’s allowance depends to the income of their family, not every
student has the same amount of allowance given to them by their parents. And with the unique
prices of each and every item in the market it makes it harder for student to satisfy their needs. Even
student nowadays wants to satisfy their wants, they still manage to fit those amenities to their tight
budget.
It’s a mystery how these students balance out their budgets to satisfy themselves, which one
outweighs the other their wants over their needs or the other way. How they make their decisions
day by day, what comes to their minds when they make their decisions regarding the management of
their budget. Hopefully, the researchers may learn a thing or two when confronting the respective
respondents and from the results of this research.

In some cases most people can’t afford what they actually need because of the unusual prices
of the items. Sometimes it’s the price of the item or the budget that they have that’s stopping them
from purchasing the item but sometimes it’s both. Well budgeting doesn’t come naturally to many
people. Budgeting your money means having a grasp on how much you’ve spent and how much you
have left.

Students spending behaviour varies everyday it depends on their moods. Sometimes it’s the
factors that affect the students on how they purchase an item. They might buy a product today but
tomorrow they might not. It all depends on the factors that affect his/ her decision making, some of
the students that have bigger allowances than others doesn’t find it harder to budget their money, on
the other hand students that have small allowances are more prone to be more vigilant on their
spending.

Assumptions
Participants
This participants will show what students are doing with their money and how they will spend it
whether they buy it because they need it or because they just want it. We will also see here how they
use their allowance and how they handle their allowance per week ang how they save money. What
are the ways they using to manage their allowance.

Data
Can be used as a basis on how we can help to students who has struggle on how they manage their
money. It can be used a student to guide and to help them manage their finances and to save
money. This also teach on how Is the right way to manage your money.

Problem
What are the problems facing the students in spending behaviour. Why their allowance is failing
because they are not properly manage or inadequate. Whether they are influenced by their friends
to buy things whether they need it or not or they are just spend it right away. Another problem is the
cost of goods such as food, transportation and school supplies. Parents can' t give enough money for
their children. Sometimes they can't stop buying things that they don't even need.

Result
When money doesn't go well and if you have things (things you need or wants but not useless thing
to waste your money) you would like to buy you may not be able to afford it and you are still asking
your parent instead of just getting the money you save. And if you manage your allowance you can
save money and you can use that money if your money is running out or not enough. and when you
manage properly and you save money, you can use it for the requirements you need like printouts,
copy, or school fees of around 10-50 pesos, you save money and you helped your parents save and
they no longer pay on the simple requirements you need. But if you not manage your allowance you
will not able to pay that simple requirements you need you have to ask your parent to give you
money.
