A roots app for budgeting and its impact on senior high

students of STI

Introduction.

The Problem and its Background

Many students go to school with the money they have received from their
parents .Without the basic knowledge of Financial Literacy, their wallet are easily
consumed by many of the things that they often faced around with foods, shopping,
transportation, parties. With no longer amount left on their pocket they face a problem
that causes to not have an extra money for their self and to save for the future.

Being a responsible student is also means a person who manages their own money
efficiency, yet they are left with an empty pocket of money left. Our app which is a
budget planner in a hope to help those students that find hard the time on managing
their own finance will give them an easy and straight-forward way to track their
expenses, as budgeting is one of ways to help them to get started it would also help
them expand their knowledge on the other factors of Finances.

The research will be focused on the Grade 11 students of the STI. It will include
students that are mainly at their Senior year which is AMB, MAWD, TOURISM,
HRM. While conducting the research it will also benefit the students as well as
improving their knowledge on Financial Independent.
Statement of the Problem

Find the cause of overspending

As one of the main reason why students face problems why they no longer have money
at the end is due to spending overboard on the things that aren’t important.

How budgeting can help in terms of productivity and efficiency

Stress is one of the main factor that students encounter and not having to worry if they
will have money left for the week will increase their productivity to easily focus on
their studies.

Find out the spending habits of a student

Many of us had bad habits in our life and one of those is spending habits we are not
aware of our expenditures that its actually creating a problem for us.
Research Question

What is the most significant effect of a student when using budgeting?

What is the main issue of a student that’s causing them to lose money?

What are the common pitfalls that they face of not managing their money properly?

How does a person that budgets their money improved their current situation?
Significance of the study

Many students nowadays don’t know how to spend their money well and it matters

very much how you will spend your money wisely. By saving money well you can

use it when you need something very important or necessary and saving money can

help you secure your money. Therefore, importance of the study are the following, To

guide the students on how to budget their money for their necessities.

To guide the students what should be prioritize for their allowance. To make the

students be more aware for spending their money. To guide the students on how to

estimate their allowance. To make the students easier for earning money from their

allowance. By this budget application, the students can easily access their allowance

through their phone, not wasting any paper or pen.

By observing and practicing on how to spend allowance wisely. It will include the

matters of thinking what to buy and what not to, as the concern would be about how

important it would be for a student to have the material, whether it is necessary to

obtain or not.
Delimitation of the study
The qualitative research entitled “A root app for budgeting and its impact on senior

high school students of STI” will be conducted to determine the impact of the root app

budgeting and its impact o senior high schools of STI. The descriptive-qualitative is the

research design to be used in the study. To obtain this, researchers will create a roots

app for budgeting. And thus the researches will only be maximizing their time on

gathering data on grade 11 students.

Limitation of the study

The researchers will be only studying the cause of overspending of students that prevent

them to save money. In addition to the scope of limitation it will only include students

that are living in apartment places due to having their home far from school.
The definition of terms

Budgeting- an amount of money available for spending that is based on plan for how

it will be spent

Allowance- an amount of money that is given to someone regularly or for a specific

purpose.

Roots-the cause or source of something

Application- a program that performs a particular task or set of tasks

Expenses- the amount of money that is needed to pay or buy something.

Savings- an amount of something that is not spent or used.

Balance- the state in which different things occur in equal or proper amounts or have

an equal or proper amount of importance.

Monitoring- one that warns or instructs
