A fractured clavicle and a hairline fracture in the ankle had put Vaidehi on bed rest for at least 8 weeks. -
physical wellness
Elicit from the students other aspects as well. How do you think it made Vaidehi feel? How do you think it
will impact her daily routine and her time with friends? Make sure students are able to bring out the
interconnectedness of the wellness aspects. How the other aspects are affected if one aspect is
low.

avoid fracture/injury? Popcorn responses.
To be followed by notebook work (slide 11) and class discussion.

Step 3 - Ever wonder how our bones heal? Take them through slide 5. Bring to the understanding that
although bones begin to heal within a week, it can take several months for complete healing to happen.
Encourage them to share personal experiences with any bone related or sports related injuries. What
happened? What did you do next?

Closure/HOTS/Synthesis: (10 mins)

Slide 12 - Vaidehi is an avid cyclist. What’s some advice you would give her to take better care of her
body? Be as creative as you want but make sure that you include specific preventive steps that you’ve
learnt today in your work. Students will do this in their notebook (can be given as HW). Good samples
can be put up on the classroom boards as well.
