Describe an example of your leadership experience in which you have positively

influenced others, helped resolve disputes, or contributed to group efforts over time.
1. Over the years that I have been in school there have been many moments where I have been
in charge of a team with a job to complete. When I was part of my construction trades program I
was the leader of my team in which we built tables, sheds, and many other things. Through that
experience, I learned that people are different and some people don’t listen to authority or get
distracted easily. Over time I was able to help them when it came to learning how to use tools
and stay focused on our project. We got a lot done and began to work as a well-oiled machine
getting many projects done quickly and with high-quality craftsmanship. I was also put in charge
of a team for my animation class. I was required to help everyone figure out what their role was
and how to follow the requirements for our project. Everyone had their own ideas of what they
wanted to do so as the leader it was my job to figure out how to incorporate everything together
with a core theme in mind so that it looked and felt like it was one coherent piece.

Every person has a creative side, and it can be expressed in many ways: problem
solving, original and innovative thinking, and artistically, to name a few. Describe how
you express your creative side
2. Creativity to me means taking something or maybe even nothing and turning it into something
new using an idea or a vision. Everyone has the potential to be creative but not everyone uses
that ability or doesn’t have the courage to do so. A person who uses their creativity can break
what is normally possible when it comes to the status quo. I often like to be creative when I
come up with ideas for art or writing. Use the emotions I feel or the things around me as
inspiration for whatever it is I want to convey with my piece. I like to use my creative skills when
I problem solve because some problems are often hard to solve with normal ideas and they
need a bit of creative help to fix whatever it is. In my construction trade, class, we once ran out
of material so I was able to take multiple pieces and put them together to fix the problem.

What would you say is your greatest talent or skill? How have you developed and
demonstrated that talent over time?
3. I feel like while people may not see it as a skill I believe that my ability to stay cool-headed,
be friendly, and appear approachable is very important to me. I treat people with respect and
people like to talk to me. Because of my approachable nature, I have made a lot of friends
because they have heard me talk or just saw me and struck up a conversation with me. While at
times I may be shy or feel like I can’t talk to someone when I don’t know them they will see me
socializing with my friends or just with random people and feel like they are able to approach
me. I can socialize with anyone and keep a conversation going. I feel like this skill will be
especially important in my future careers as talking to people and hopefully becoming favorable
in their eyes can help me to get promotions or raises. Throughout my life, I have made this skill
because I wanted people to feel comfortable around me and I wanted to be friendly to everyone
I met. I had been bullied back then and I wanted everyone to feel good about themselves
instead of having regrets or feel depressed because they were bullied or were currently being
bullied.
