The Patient’s View of Nursing Care after Hip Fracture Vol 2012, 6 pages.
Introduction explained that this study represents patients' views on care at the time they
are treated with hip fractures. This research was conducted so that nurses
could improve the pattern of nursing care better. The research was
conducted by conducting analytical interviews using Burnard's theory.
Procedures This study involved nurses, examiners (MLK & JP), the study took place in
the orthopedic ward of Lund University Hospital, Sweden. The participants
were 10 patients after hip fracture. The study was conducted after the
patient received nursing care and before the patient went home. Prior to
conducting the study, patients will be selected by nurses. Furthermore, the
patient will be given information about what will be done in this study. then
at the meeting the patient was given a consent form about the study. After
all stages are completed, interviews with patients can be conducted.
Findings from this study obtained 4 data, namely: 1. waiting time, 2. pain, 3.
mobilization, 4. attitude / information and a sense of security. From the
results of the data found this study helps nurses in improving the services
needed by patients.
Conclusions 10 patients with a history of post-hip fractures after being interviewed using
the Burnard's content analysis method, found almost the same answers from
the patient's point of view with other patients. The results include the
waiting room, pain, mobilization, attitude/information and a sense of
security.
Personal I think this research is very important in improving nursing care, especially
Coments in fracture patients. This study conducted interviews with fracture patients
directly with almost the same answers. therefore I think this research is very
effective in making changes in nursing care for the better.
