Methodical instructions for students for practical classes

care of patients
 
Topic: Basic principles and organizational principles of general care for the
patients of the therapeutic profile. Structure and function of therapeutic
department. Assessment of the general state of the patient based on the questioning
and the overall review.
 
Actuality: Coming to the clinic, students begin to master complex and important
science of relations with patients, whose purpose is to cure the patient. The success
of the treatment is largely determined by properly performed care. Nursing
provides for their service medical staff to provide basic necessities of life. Proper
organization of the structure and functioning of the Internal Medicine Department
promotes optimal provision of health services. Providing of the sanitary-
epidemiological regime prevent the spread of nosocomial infections. Providing of
the medical protective regime accelerates the healing process.
Diagnosis of the disease, and subsequently its treatment is largely depends on how
correct, systematic and landmark will be examined the patient, drawn attention to
the key points that can doctor touch up the correct solution. Data collected during
questioning of the patient, his review, determining the overall status, position in
bed, the patient's posture and gait can be key in determining the future diagnosis.
 
Learning aims: To introduce students to the department and clinic, with types of
medical institutions, health-protective and sanitary regime in these institutions.
Familiarize students with professional responsibilities of the nurses in inpatient
hospital units, principles of professional subordination system doctor - nurse -
nurses. To teach students the correct methods of asking the patient, examination to
determine the overall status, position in bed, posture and gait of the patient.

As a result of lessons students should be able to:
1. To evaluate medical care of patients.
2. To evaluate the compliance of the rules in the department of medical
security and sanitary regimes.
3. If necessary, help the patient to perform a morning toilet, changing
bedding and underwear.
4. Actively implement in practice the principles of medical ethics and
deontology.
5. To perform questioning of the patient and summarize the data.
6. Determine the general condition of the patient.
7. Assess the patient's position in bed.
