Reflection

In the first seminar class in the second year of the health care informatics program

seminar, Mary Beth presented her capstone project, which talked about the Risk Adjustment for

Social Determinants of health.

Moreover, Dr. Ohagan talked of her new role as coordinator of the program. The current

HISA president Ceejay talked about the meeting on Wednesday; they are looking for feedback

from the students on what they expect from HISA, and we will have a discussion. In my opinion,

HISA is interesting because it lets the person build good relations and keep the person motivated.

On the other hand, Dr. Klimpel talks about the practicum updating, and she talks about

which tracks need to do, and who is optional. It is optional for my track, but I will do it. I feel

like it will add significant value for me.

Dr.Boone talks about the Social Justice Field Work and capstone project, the options we

have, like an actual project or a proposed project, whose the advisors, and all of the process.

In the end, we have a great talk with the instructors, and they share with us what we have

to do and what questions we have. It was a great first seminar in the second year.
