The PGU-15A/B is a low-cost target practice round, ballistically
matched to the PGU-13/B High Explosive Incendiary cartridge.
This design, used for training applications, has also been proven
in applications against light armor.
The PGU series of ammunition is currently in use with the 30mm
GAU-8/A Gatling gun on the U.S. Air Force A-10 close-support air-
craft.

The MK266 and MK238 HEI-Ts are modifications of the PGU-13
HEI, adding a tracer and ATK Low Drag fuze. The MK266 Mod 1
uses a non self-destruct version of the fuze for the U.S. Marine
Corps’ Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV). The MK238 Mod 1
uses a self-destruct version of the fuze. The Low Drag fuzes,
produced exclusively by ATK, provide superior arming delay, graze
function and extended range sensitivity.
These rounds are used in the Bushmaster II or MK44, or any can-
non firing 30mm x 173mm ammunition.

The MK239 TP-T is a modification of the 30mm PGU-15 TP, adding
a tracer to meet the requirements of the U.S. Marine Corps’
Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle (EFV) and other ground vehicle
applications. The round provides a cost effective training round
that is ballistically matched to the MK266 HEI-T and MK238 HEI-T.
This round was developed for ground vehicle applications which
use the Bushmaster II or MK44 cannons, or any cannon firing
30mm x 173mm ammunition.

The MK268 APFSDS-T has been developed and is currently being
produced by RWMS. ATK is working with RWMS to provide this
round to the U.S. Marine Corps EFV program and other applica-
tions that use the MK44 cannon. The MK268 uses a tungsten
penetrator in a fully spun projectile design that will offer signifi-
cant penetration capabilities in a simplified production design.

The ATK 30mm ABM round was developed to meet the need for
increased lethality for infantry fighting vehicles. It is based on our
experience in the development of air burst munitions for the OICW
and XM25. The key to the ATK system is the airburst fuze that
uses a turns and time compensation methodology to provide the
required range burst point accuracy. Our inductive fuze setting
approach is easily integrated into the MK44 cannon and ultimate
platform. This round is currently in qualification.

LW30mm HEDP ammunition features a spin-compensated,
shaped-charge liner for superior armor defeat. Outstanding armor
penetration at ranges from 150 to 4,000 meters, combined with
blast, concussion and fragmentation characteristics, gives
superior multi-role, multi-target defeat capabilities.
Developed and fielded for ATK’s M230 chain gun on the AH-64
Apache helicopter, the ammunition is fully interoperable with the
M230 Link Fed (LF) gun system.

Developed and fielded for ATK’s M230 chain gun on the AH-64

volume, and moderate recoil, LW30mm ammunition is ideal for
helicopters, light ground vehicles, and shipboard applications.
