THE CORE STUDY SKILLS YOU FEEL CONFIDENT IN AND AN EXPLANATION OF WHY YOU FEEL CONFIDENT.

Studying at the University gives an individual ample opportunity to be faced and take
advantage of it. While I have been performing for my undergraduate degree, I have
felt that one of the core study skills in which I was experienced was critical thinking
and problem solving which I believed has been one of the core strengths which I
could explore even in the future. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are
interconnected which enables an individual to first think of the issues with a critical
point of view and then find out the solution in a systematic way (Tang et al., 2020). I
have been performing often on many subjects as a part of the project and
assessments where I have applied the critical thinking skill that has helped me a lot
to solve issues.

I remember many incidents that have let me believe that I have the skill strongly
embedded in me. However, one of the noteworthy scenes has been when a group of
students was assigned a research project and we were also given a time in which we
had to complete the task. The topic was very new to us and we all were puzzled
about what to do. Immediately, I thought of a plan where we could apply the critical
thinking approach that will help to complete the assignment. I have suggested to my
friends to divide the tasks that will also help us to accomplish the tasks on time. I
have also decided personally to research the secondary sources where the peer-
reviewed journals will be followed so that sound discussion on the points can be
drawn. My tutor gave me good feedback on identifying the right way of solving the
issue and submitting the assignment on time as well.

AN EXPLANATION OF HOW YOU HAVE DEMONSTRATED COMPETENCE IN YOUR IDENTIFIED STUDY SKILLS.

The research assignment was only a part of the task but later the difficult part came
with the selection of the research methods for establishing the procedure to
complete the task. To carry out the research study, we had to choose the
appropriate research method so that relevant and credible information could be
collected. By critically thinking about what the subject or the topic demanded, I
focused on the procedure. First of all, I decided to develop a hypothesis based on
which the research will be carried forward that will through the research either state
concluding H1 or H2. My teammates coordinated with me as they helped me by
collecting information from different journals which I have documented together. With
a final revision of the information that has been collected, I tried to prove any one of
the hypotheses which let the research be constructive and academic. In choosing
the research methods, by understanding which would be justified and which methods
would not be suitable, the research has been carried forward.

Once I got stuck with the decision as to whether to go for the Deductive approach or
the Inductive approach. By critically thinking, I found that evaluating the topic with the
theories present in connection to the topic would be good and so have moved ahead
with it. This has helped me and my teams to move ahead with a certain aim that will
guide how the research was to be conducted. Problem-solving skills and critical
thinking do come side by side as with the critical evaluation and identification of the
issue, the solution to the problem can be obtained. Hence, it has shown me that I
have competency in such a core skill.

THE CORE STUDY SKILLS YOU NEED TO DEVELOP AND AN EXPLANATION OF WHY YOU NEED TO DEVELOP

THESE SKILLS.

I need to develop the digital literacy skill that has been mostly in need in
contemporary society with so many complex corporate issues. Digitalization has
today captured the majority of the attention of the companies and all the
performances are carried forward with the help of the digital pathway (Zulkarnain et
al., 2020). Hence, it is very much needed for an individual to have the digital
knowledge in performing and also give enhanced outcomes. Today, I feel that I
need to also learn about Data analytics or the way cloud computing is being used so
that I build up my career with good actions and constructive skills within me.
Organizations today are in the search of those talents having innovative skills and
meet the demands of the users where digital knowledge is in high demand.

In the corporate world standing in the 21 st century, it could be evaluated that

technology is needed by the companies and employees need to have adequate
knowledge of it (Bejaković and Mrnjavac, 2020). With the knowledge of IT
operations, an individual could gain both professional and personal development.
That will give self-motivation to the self-esteem.
WHAT YOU CAN DO TO IMPROVE THE CORE STUDY SKILLS YOU NEED TO DEVELOP.ST CENTURY

To improve my core study skill which is digital literacy, I need to attend courses on
programming and data analytics that will help me to identify my needs and also
perform accurately. I can also watch YouTube videos and listen to the seminars on
the skill given by the experts.
