Bol.com

Website description: Bol.com is a web shop founded in the Netherlands. It offers

general products in all sorts of categories. It was founded in 1999 and has since
become one of the biggest online web shops in The Netherlands and Belgium. It
has a yearly revenue of circa 4.2 billion euro’s. The platform works together with
more than 30.000 companies and has more than 3000 employees.

Functionality:
The website loads very fast and has no significant stutters. Of course you need to
be connected to a stable Wi-Fi. It is very easy to find things as there are many
different categories. You can also just use the search bar at the top of the site and
find related things. The links on the website are easily visible and easy to use.
Authority:
It is a very easy to navigate web shop where you can find anything you want.
There is also a very reliable customer service and a chat bot. Changing language is
also easy, but there is only French and Dutch which might be difficult for foreign
people. I think they should definitely add an English option in the future. The site
is trusted by many people.

Attractiveness
The site is easily navigable. Every category is also pictured with a fitting picture so
it’s almost impossible to not find what you are looking for. It’s a fairly simple
design but I think this is because older people also use it.

Tweedehands.be

Website description: This is a site where everyone can sell products he have
previously owned to other people. It’s like a market place for second hand stuff
but then online. There are a couple features such as putting your item as
‘topzoeketje’ will most likely give you more attraction.

Functionality:
The site is very easy to use and very simple. Almost everyone can use it without
facing problems. You can use the search bar to find your products easily. The
customer service is not that good but it is there. The problem is that you sell or
buy from other people so some things can’t be trusted.

Attractiveness
The site looks very bland and not pretty. They really should update the layout and
make it more user friendly.
Authority

The site is not that trusted by people because you can easily get scammed by
other persons. There is a customer service that can help you.

Vinted.be

Website description:
Vinted is an online market place where people can buy and sell secondhand
products. Vinted is used for clothing and accessories. Vinted was founded in
Lithuania in 2008 and currently is most popular from their app.

Functionality: The website loads very fast and has no significant stutters. Of
course you need to be connected to a stable Wi-Fi. It is very easy to find things as
there are many different categories. You can clearly find what you are looking for.

Attractiveness: The website and layout is very beautiful, by far one of the best
designs I have ever seen. The categories are well displayed.

Authority: It’s mostly trusted but of course there is a possibility to get scammed.
There is a customer service that works good.
NMBS
NMBS stands for national society of belgian railroads and on their site you will
find everything related to train traffic. you would think that nbms is not a
webshop but nothing could be further from the truth, you can buy your tickets on
the website. in addition to that, you can get info on subscriptions, delays, track
works, international travel and so on.

The website is very easy to use and practical, everything is marked with topics and
the first thing you see is the panel to buy your tickets.

in itself the site is attractive to users, it uses color and pictures.

nmbs is very well known to people yet not so well liked, this is partly because of
all the network problems they have.

COOLBLUE
coolblue is a webshop where they mainly sell electronic products. from phones to
kitchen robots, they have it all.

The wesbite is very easy to use because everything is indicated by product type,
you can also look up your desired product yourself.
It is a wesbite that is very trusted by the customers. they are always well served
and know that they can count on the site.

The site looks nice but can come across as a bit cluttered with that there is a lot
on one page.

Vandenborre

The website is user friendly, the menu bar is always visible and is clearly divided
between the different categories that the company sells. This way the customer
can easily identify and specify the product they are looking for. It makes the
website functional for both new and old customers using it. They give a wide
range of products of different brands which can be chosen on the left side of the
site by the customer. They are able to specify which brand, the size and the colour
to limit the search results. This makes the customer’s search way easier. The
website uses the same colours as the logo which is important for their brand.
According to trustpilot, their authority has lowered the last few years by a wide
range of negative reviews. The colours and fonts are a good choice and the overall
attractiveness of the site is quite high. The pictures used at the start are a good
way for advertising but can be overwhelming. Overall this is a good example of a
website.
Veepee

This website uses nice and soft colours but still gives a happy and flourishing
feeling. It gives a similar feeling to what the logo gives. The background picture is
a bold choice considering it gives a childish vibe to a website who sells brands
such as ray-bans, etc. If you don’t know the brand it would be quite confusing to
what they actually do or sell since they show different brands and categories
(sunglasses, clothing, parfum, drinking bottles) all at once. The menu is at the top
and is always accessible no matter how far you scroll, which is functional.
According to review sites such as Trustpilot, Veepee scores quite low when it
comes to authority. Overall they offer variating objects and has a medium
attractiveness level.

Game mania

Personally I am not a fan of the combination of colours but it does fit with the
logo. They differentiate the games from each console which makes it easier to
find what you are looking for. They make it clear right from the start which
consoles they have and sell. The menu also stays at the top no matter how far you
scroll which makes the website functional for the customer. The authority level of
the website is also high. Their attractiveness level is lowered due to the colour
choice but also due to the overload of pictures. Overall still a good and well-
functioning website.
In this portion I will discuss four US sites. Two of these are B2C and the other two
are C2C. The B2C sites are https://www.target.com/ , and
https://www.bestbuy.com/?intl=nosplash. The C2C sites are
https://www.ebay.com/ , and www.craigslist.org.

BestBuy, and Target.

Both are two chain retail stores in the US that have online marketplace shops
along with physical stores. Both sites are direct sellers of the products they offer
in their stores as well as online exclusives (deals and products). Both sites are
designed well and are easy to navigate. They include a deals page as well as a
page for each product sold with a description and reviews of that specific product.
Also, both sites offer options to order online and pick up in store, or just have the
product shipped directly to you. Both sites are very useful for purchasing products
such has clothes or groceries with target and electronics with BestBuy.

eBay and Craigslist.

Both sites are C2C which means consumer to consumer. These types of sites are
rising in popularity because of convenience and cost effectiveness. Both sites are
well designed and can be easily used to find exactly what you are looking for
whether that is a good on eBay or a service on Craigslist. The site of eBay is more
detail oriented than Craigslist with many different pictures and colors throughout
the site. eBay offers both fixed prices and auctions for items sold while Craigslist
offers no payment system, but instead a payment in person after the service you
hired has been provided. Both C2C sites mentioned can be very useful depending
on what product or service you may need or want. If you want a rare movie
poster check eBay, but if you want a plumber Craigslist would be a better choice.
Overall, online shopping and services for consumers plays a big role with day-to-
day life in America. Many products and services are bought online as opposed to
going to physical stores mainly due to convenience. The number of B2B and C2C
sites in America and throughout the world will only continue to grow as time
progresses.

Conclusion
In conclusion, there are many different websites that we use in our daily lives.
Some websites are well designed and others not so much. Regardless of the
design the websites will still be used if the person would like to get good or
service from it, so it is important the companies invest into making a good web
site.
