THE EVALUATION OF AN INNOVATIVE APP 3

Introduction

TikTok will never be more popular, yet singles have perhaps never felt more alone than they do
now. COVID-19 required people to stay at home and occupy themselves, thus the social video
application, which had been established before the epidemic, exploded in popularity. TikTok was
Kim Kaplan's inspiration for the creation of Snack, a video-based dating app. Around March
2020, Kaplan, a former Plenty of Fish employee, came up with the concept for Snack. When the
COVID-19 epidemic struck, she was even more certain that video courting would have been the
next important hit in the dating scene, and witnessing TikTok become viral and the material on
the site just strengthened her convictions. In September, she began raising money for Snack,
which reported its $3.5 million pre-seed round in February as well as debuted on iOS in March
of this year.

Discussion

She was interested by the concept of integrating TikTok as well as Tinder for just video-dating
experiences as somebody who grew infatuated with TikTok or otherwise (unrelatedly) became
single throughout the previous year. After downloading Snack, I spoke with CEO Kaplan more
about the app, the potential of video as well as dating as well as "Hey" massagers. It is similar to
the TikTok experience in that you browse through the videos instead of swiping across them.
However, we have adapted Tinder's matchmaking system for our own purposes. Once you both
agreed that you liked one other, you may begin messaging each other. In contrast to Tinder,
where people match and therefore are immediately sent to a new UX as well as screen where you
can begin exchanging messages, with Bumble, you may immediately begin messaging one
another. The little tiny heart button no longer exists on Snack; instead, users also have a DM box
if we can have both loved each other's videos (Chikkanna et al, 2020). So that you may send
messages right from the videos. Until I was chatting to Gen Z about what they are now dating,
and that is when the concept truly germinated in my head. People have to use Tinder and Bumble
because that is what everyone else does, but as quickly as they find someone they click with on
either of those apps, they are gone. When it comes to flirting, it was a hidden way of doing just
that, rather than putting pressure on themselves to reply immediately to other stuff, which may

be stressful (Van Lippevelde et al, 2018). Would you really want to go out for a coffee? This
way, people can get to know these people just that little better.
Using Snack, users may still romance and have a light discussion as little more than a
consequence of connecting with someone else's material. In today's world of online dating, it was
all about having a stable account. A brief bio as well as five photographs are sent to the site, and
then it will be left unattended until people return to it later. As a TikTok as well as Instagram-
like app, Snack is supposed to be used for a similar way (Gatica-Perez et al, 2019). Allowing
somebody who has a talk with one about the things that are currently taking place. When it
comes to dating applications, new distribution channels have generally introduced them. TikTok
as well as influencers, in my opinion, are at the root of the next wave, and TikTok itself may
serve as a new content delivery system. At least, that is where I saw it.
One day while surfing TikTok, I came across a video of a woman singing out to a Chase Rice
song. In my mind, she was performing the "What's your name?" routine. What zodiac sign are
you? How old are you, exactly? Where are you from? And suddenly, the thought occurred to
me,oh my God, she's attempting to date (Hoff et al, 2018). Initially, I clicked upon that music to
check whether anybody else had made a similar video. More than 130,000 videos were attributed
to this tune.
While looking over several of these films, I noticed that many of those who made them were also
looking for a partner. As soon as she clicked upon this keyword #single in her video description,
She saw that the tag included over 13 million of views in only a few hours' time. That is when
She understood that TikTok had a dating underbelly. Over the last several years, there have been
a number of specialty methods. Another major player will enter the market, and I believe that is
what we are creating with Snack in the end. That still does not imply that two as well as three
months from now, video will not be the norm (Prathyusha et al, 2018). If I had to guess, I would
say that video would soon become the norm for dating applications. Being able to have someone
in person on video seems much more authentic as well as real. I believe video seems to be the
future. Video, too, I believe, will eventually morph into AR as well as VR. In order to make
people feel more at ease, video is an excellent starting point. Until you have the technology, you
won't be able to achieve broad acceptance. In addition, it is in this way that TikTok has
facilitated the widespread use of video content.

Being able to have someone in person on video seems much more authentic as well as real. I
believe video seems to be the future (Price et al, 2020). Video, too, I believe, will eventually

starting point. Until you have the technology, the company will not be able to achieve broad
acceptance. In addition, it is in this way that TikTok has facilitated the widespread use of video
content. I like to think of Instagram as the Kim Kardashian selfie era for Gen Z because of how it
differs from earlier generations. While TikTok is coming as anyone seems to be and raw Visitors
can see this in the material, which is being shared: it is much more honest and genuine.
Moreover, this is a great way to meet new people.
Visitors may start a discussion with someone they have previously connected with on the app by
sending them a message right from the material they have shared with themselves.
Snack was designed to be a continuous stream of movies, which I believe was a major departure
in the way dating profiles are now structured. There is a sort of static representation of who
anyone is because he or she upload his or her amusing photographs and write your text, and you
do not even edit it again. As a result, they are no longer sociable because we are not constantly
changing their Facebook status as well as changing those pals about what they are. For dating,
we wondered, cannot do the same (Puspitasari et al, 2018). A chance to start a discussion with
somebody is provided by the fresh material that is being released. They could remark, Oh that
was such a nice puppy. What kind of dog is that? As compared towards the other five
photographs, where they may not have had anything to say about it and it is not only a matter of
societal progress against the way dating has been done over the last many decades.
Learning SQL and just being allowed to go into the database as well as find out what is going on
offered opportunities and me the most control. Therefore, I was equipped with the ability to ask
the appropriate questions, as well as to extract my own information, so that I could better
comprehend how events were also being carried out (Schlinkert et al, 2020). Actually, I always
do it to this day. That ability enabled me to achieve greater heights than I might have otherwise.
And it is amazing because then anyone can simply present those questions in a manner, because

they have just a new perspective of how the goods function because you can peek under the hood
and truly grasp what's happening on how things get done (Putnam et al, 2018). I have been able
to grasp things that I could not otherwise because of this ability.

Conclusion

This seems to be all about building solid relationships with the people, not taking those
connections for granted as well as giving something back through exchange for the trust and
friendship. Even when working on Snack, I make it a point to support the community and to
other entrepreneurs. A lot of what I have been doing over the past 12 to 15 years has paid off in
unexpected ways throughout me, although I am grateful for something like the opportunity to be
a part of it. Therefore, I believe the most important thing is to be real about what you are doing
and to ask for assistance when anyone needs it. Far too many individuals have the arrogance to
believe that they are doing anything on their own. In fact, I told everyone that I requested
assistance from somebody who understood how to fundraise right away, and I received it.
Because of all the connections I made, I was able to secure a successful fundraising campaign.
Therefore, this is about being receptive to creating connections, asking for help, and just being
honest about why they are doing what they are.
