Using the e-books
Navigate through each e-book by clicking and dragging
the corners of each page or by using the forward and back
arrows. Click on the X button (on the top right hand corner)
to close the e-books and go back to the menu. Click on the X
in the main menu (on the top right hand corner of the screen)
to quit the software completely.
You can use the Go to page function to jump to a specific
page in the e-book.
Use the Zoom tools to (from left to right):
» Zoom to a particular area of the page
» Zoom to a single page view
» Zoom back out to see the full spread
An audio tab will automatically open when there is narration
for a spread. Click the Play button to listen to the audio. If
you wish to skip forward, click and drag the round counter
and release when necessary. Press the Pause button to stop
the audio and Play to continue. The audio tab can be closed
by pressing the X button.
Using the tools
The International English e-books software includes a few
very simple tools that allow you to highlight and annotate
the e-books. These tools can be used during the teaching
sessions with a small group or individual, if you choose to
view the e-book on an interactive whiteboard or computer.
» The tools allow you to draw/write
over the e-book page with a Pencil
and Highlighting Pen. You can
select the colour you want to
use after selecting the tool.
» You can delete any of the
annotations you make by
selecting the Eraser tool and
then clicking on the annotations.
» You can add typed notes to the
page by selecting the Sticky Note
tool. You can delete these notes
by clicking on the X.
» The Hide & Reveal tool allows you
to draw a box to cover up areas of
the page – allowing you to hide
words or images. Use the Erase tool
to reveal.
» The Spotlight tool can be used
to focus the attention on specific
parts of the page. You can choose
between a round or rectangular
spotlight after selecting the tool.
» You can save your annotations by selecting Save
Annotations, and load them back in to the book in a
later session by selecting Open Annotations.
» If you want to hide annotations at any time, select
Hide Annotations. Select Show Annotations to
reveal again.
