The Strength to Weight Ratio of the Warren Double Intersection

Bridge Design
Maeve! Marchand, August Heim, Henry Dunne and Archer Giffin at Washington Latin Public Charter
School, 5200 2nd St NW, Washington, DC 20011
Background:
We were inspired by the “double intersection
Figure 1: Schematic Design
warren” bridge.1 Once we found this bridge,
we searched for a model bridge that
represented the double intersection warren.2
The domains we reached for this project are
designing and executing investigations, when
we made or schematic design and had to see
what would and wouldn't work for it. We also
developed a model.
Research objective:
Our goal for this project was to be able to hold
as much weight as we could.
