1 Preparation
1.1 General Information
This Update will provide ACUSON S Family software version VC31B utilizing Remote Update
Handling and conventional on site visits with internet downloadable software and user
documentation.
This SW patch provides additional new service features to continue to support and improve
utilization of SRS.
• New version of the Manage Node Package (MNP) this is required to continue to support
SRS RUH going forward.
• Re-introduce syngo Remote Assist powered by eSieLink, Siemens Ultrasound
implementation of TeamViewer.
To take advantage of these new SRS features we recommend and encourage the countries to take
the opportunity and get their systems connected and configured for SRS at the same time this
update is performed.

1.1.4 Prerequisites
Minimum System Software version VC30C is required. Systems with VC30A, VC30B need to follow
up and perform Update Instruction US029/14/S.
It is recommended to contact the customer and ask them to archive all patient data prior to
arrival.
No update material is available from CSML for this update. Software patch and user
documentation must be downloaded from the Siemens intranet prior to arrival on-site.

a. Use PKI card or Windows Login to login (If required)
b. Select US
c. Select Common US
d. Select SW Patches
e. Select S Family
f. Select VC31B (click) on the VC31B_450.0.118_IntranetUpdate_Rev02.zip file
11. Select a destination to save the file (in this example your desktop) click Save.
3. Select Windows Explorer, if necessary use the Browse button to navigate to Windows
Explorer then select Windows Explorer from the list and click OK.
Note: If this screen is not displayed, reference Appendix B to set up Windows Disc Image
Burner as default for iso-files.
6. Verify the status “The disk image has been successfully burned to disc”. The disk should
automatically eject. Click Close.
i Every CD-R/DVD has to be copied from the original file. Copying from CD-R/DVD
to CD-R/DVD is prohibited!

By pushing the description button, the details pertaining to the SW being installed will be
displayed.
Defer: Selecting the Defer option will postpone the SW installation. Customer can select Defer
option for up to 30 days at which time installation will be reported as failed.
Note: If the Defer option is selected, the GUI will appear on the next system power cycle or
reboot. The GUI will not appear after resuming from Standby.
Yes: Selecting the Yes button will immediately install the SW. The progress bar appears on the
screen.
During the installation the system will reboot and this screen will appear
