1.1.3 Prerequisites
System software version VC31B must be installed.
Software patch VC31C can only install on top of software version VC31B.
It is recommended to contact the customer and ask them to archive all patient data prior
to arrival.
No update material is available from CSML for this update. The software patch must be
downloaded from the Siemens intranet prior to arrival on-site.
The latest version of this document can be found in the Services Knowledge Base (SKB).

n You will need to sign on with PKI or Windows Login.
n Check Document Types “UI”.
n Type in the update number US007/19/P in the search field, and then click Search.

Access the Product Information site, using a PKI card or Windows Login to log in:
6. Click Software.
7. Select S Family Software Patch Installation – VC30C through VC31C
8. Select a destination to save the file (in this example your desktop), and then click
Save.

9. Right click on the file downloaded to your desktop and select Extract All.

10. Click Browse to select a destination in this example the desktop and click Extract.

Important: You must burn the ISO file to the CD or DVD as an image; if you simply copy
the ISO file to the CD, the System will not recognize it as a software patch install disk.
Windows Disc Image Burner may be displayed instead of Burn disc image. This varies
between Windows operating systems.
5. Check Verify disc after burning in the lower left corner and then select Burn

6. Verify that the status “The disk image has been successfully burned to disc” is dis‐
played. The disk should automatically eject. Click Close.

Every CD-R/DVD has to be copied from the original file. Copying from CD-R/DVD to CD-
R/DVD is prohibited!
2.1.1 Overview
n Locate, Uninstall, and Move the imaging optimization file.
n Install software patch version VC31C
n Reactivate FPD imaging optimization file

7. Navigate to C:\WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\color.
9. If the KT_LM215FDS.icm file is not saved to the system, continue to 2.1.3 Install SW
Patch Version VC31C.
1. Insert a USB Flash Drive into one of the Control Panel USB ports.
2. Right click KT_LM215FDS.icm, and then click Uninstall Profile.

This procedure is only required if the imaging optimization file was previously saved to
the USB Flash Drive.
The following procedure describes how to reactivate the FPD ICC (International Color Con‐
sortium) imaging optimization file (KT_LM215FDS.icm).
This file is only present if the imaging optimization was performed at an earlier point of
time before the VC31C patch was installed.
The concept is to leave the system with the same imaging optimization before and after
this update is performed. If the system was optimized the imaging optimization file must
be reactivated.
1. Press the Power button, and then click Restart. The system must be rebooted to en‐
sure that the imaging optimization file (KT_LM215FDS.icm) will be properly reactiva‐
ted.

2. Insert the USB Flash Drive with the saved KT_LM215FDS.icm file into one of the Con‐
trol Panel USB ports.
3. Press the System Config key on the keyboard.
4. Click Service, and then click Local Service.

9. Navigate to the USB Flash Drive and locate the KT_LM215FDS.icm file.

12. Right click KT_LM215FDS.icm, and then click Install Profile. The KT_LM215FDS.icm
file will be saved to the system (C:\WINNT\system32\spool\drivers\color).

13. Right click KT_LM215FDS.icm, and then click Associate. The Associate Device menu
will be displayed.

14. Verify that KT-LM215FDS is displayed, and then click Add. The Add Device menu will
be displayed.

16. Verify 1. Plug and Play Monitor is displayed in the Associated Devices box. Click Ap‐
ply, and then click OK. The Associate Device Menu will close.

17. Navigate to the Control Panel, and then click Display. The Display Properties menu
will be displayed.

19. Click the Color Management tab, and then verify KT_LM215FDS is displayed in Color
profiles box.
20. Verify that KT_LM215FDS is listed as the Default monitor profile, and then click OK.

Changes to the IVK structure must be reported to the local Data Management in order
for the Installed Base to be updated.
Do not leave the downloaded VC31C SW patch media (DVD/CD) at the customer site.
