Reason for the update 0

The mounting bolts that secure the single tank fork assembly and the mounting bolts that
secure the collimator flange could potentially become loose.These specific mounting bolts
will be replaced with this update.

1. Replace the screws from the fork mount.

2. Replace the screws from the flange mount at the single tank.

Replace the screws from the fork mount 0

In this section, the replacement of the 6 screws (1/Fig. 2 / p. 7) from the fork mount is
shown. It is very important to follow the sequence described.

Work steps
• Switch off the system and disconnect it from the power supply. (In the case of Mobilett
XP Hybrid, operating mode switch = 0)
• Use the screws shown in (1/Fig. 1 / p. 5).

NOTE Don´t mix up the new screws with the old screws during replace-
ment.

• Take out only one screw at a time (1/Fig. 3 / p. 8), replacing each one in turn with a new
screw (1/Fig. 1 / p. 5); tighten each screw to a torque of 7 Nm.

NOTE Do not apply Loctite or anything else.

NOTE The sequence for replacing all screws will be crosswise (screws
1-2-3-4-5-6) (Fig. 3 / p. 8); first tighten all screws to a torque of 7
Nm.

• Proceed in the same way with the screws 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.

• When all screws are replaced, apply 15 Nm to all screws crosswise (Fig. 3 / p. 8).
• Finally, check the torque (should be 15 Nm) on all the screws again, proceeding cross-
wise.
• Dispose of the screws replaced.

XP Hybrid, operating mode switch = 0)

• Use a rope or tightening belt to keep the system support arm from lifting up.
(A/Fig. 4 / p. 9).

¹ The single tank should rest securely on a table.
• Remove the two adjustment knobs of the collimator (using a 2mm Allen wrench)
(C/Fig. 5 / p. 9).
¹ Note the position of the knobs during removal!

• Remove the screws (1/Fig. 6 / p. 10) and open the collimator cover.

NOTE Before removal, mark the exact position of the collimator.

When disassembling, pay attention to the cable layout for later
assembly.

• Loosen the four Allen screws of the collimator and remove the collimator.
(1/Fig. 7 / p. 10).

• Measure the distance between single tank and flange (i.e. using a caliper) as shown in
(X/Fig. 9 / p. 11)

• Determine the type of screws that will be required depending on the measurement
result (type A (Fig. 10 / p. 12)or type B (Fig. 11 / p. 12)).

NOTE Do not remove all the screws at once.

¹ Use the appropriate screws (delivered with this kit) for the distance measured.
If the distance X > 36.5 mm --> Use the type A screws (2/Fig. 1 / p. 5)
If the distance X < 35,0 mm --> use the type B screws (3/Fig. 1 / p. 5)
• Take out and replace only one screw and washer at a time; tighten each one to a torque
of 3.5 Nm.

NOTE The sequence for replacing all screws will be crosswise

(Fig. 12 / p. 13) (screws 1-2-3-4)

• Proceed in the same way with the screws 2, 3, 4.

• Finally, check the torque (should be 3.5 Nm) on all the screws again, proceeding cross-
wise.
• Position the collimator on the flange of the single tank, paying attention to the cable lay-
out (4/Fig. 8 / p. 11).
• Center the collimator in such a way that the flange screws engage underneath the
flange edge.
• Alternately tighten the Allen screws (1/Fig. 7 / p. 10) of the collimator uniformly with an
approximate torque of 0.65 Nm.
• Rotate the collimator from 0° to 180° and check the cable layout.
• Perform a light field - radiation field check (Light field - radiation field / p. 14).

NOTE Only when the deviation between light field and radiation field is
>1.7 % will the collimator be adjusted using the four mounting
screws.

¹ Place the single tank in the exposure position while taking into consideration the
missing weight of the collimator cover.
¹ Correct any deviations > 1.7% via the four mounting screws of the collimator.
• Attach the collimator cover.
• Check the balance of the support arm.
• Dispose of the screws replaced and any that were not used.

Light field - radiation field

• Place the cassette (35x35) or the detector for the XP Digital on the tabletop.
• Set the central beam so that it is vertical.
• Set a vertical SID of 100 cm. Use the collimator measuring tape to measure to the cas-
sette or top detector edge.
• Switch on the light localizer and set a light field of approx. 25x25.

NOTE Darken the room if necessary, to allow you to see the edges of the
light field more clearly.

• In the case of the XP Digital, place the lead measuring tape (centering cross) in the cen-
ter of the detector.
• Measure the light field and make note of the dimensions for the XP Digital.
• For XP/ Hybrid/ Eco, mark the light field with 4 washers (Fig. 13 / p. 14).
• Place one washer as a side marker (Fig. 13 / p. 14).

• For XP/ Hybrid/ Eco, select 55KV, 2.5mAs.
• In the case of the MOBILETT XP Digital:
- Create a test patient.
- Select an organ program from the "TEST" area with approx. 60kV, 4mAs.
X • Release an exposure.

Evaluation: light field to radiation field

• On all four sides, evaluate the deviations (A, C and B, D) between the edges of the light
field and the edges of the radiation field on the film or monitor according to
(Fig. 14 / p. 15). For MOBILETT XP Digital, use the zoom function if necessary.
• Calculate the overall deviation in the A, C and B, D directions (disregarding the sign).
¹ The deviation must not exceed 1.7%. If the deviation is > 1.7%, the collimator
must be adjusted via the 4 collimator mounting screws.
