"Rizal Sa Dapitan" is a 1997 film directed by Tikoy Aguiluz and written by Pete Lacaba, starring
Albert Martinez as Dr. Jose Rizal and Amanda Page as Josephine Bracken. Jose Rizal's life in
Dapitan is shown in this film. He was exiled for four years from 1892 to 1896 due to his criticism
to the friars and the Spanish government but the most fruitful years of his life. Rizal's romance
story for Josephine Bracken, whom he married after learning of Leonor's death, is also
discussed.
Jose Rizal Film is a 1998 historical movie directed by Marilou Diaz-Abaya featuring Cesar
Montano as Jose Rizal. It is based on the true story of Rizal, who was exiled under Spanish
colonization in Fort Santiago, and depicts Rizal's life and struggles from his childhood to his
education until his final day of execution. While the Bayaning Third World is a documentary film
directed by Mike de Leon. It evaluates Rizal's heroism, focusing on the alleged retraction of his
writings against the Catholic Church.

The film “Rizal Sa Dapitan” depicts Jose Rizal's life when he was exiled to Dapitan. His stay can
be described as simple yet inspiring. Rizal’s experience was motivating since he was able to live
his life fully productive even while exiled. It also upset me when he expressed his longing for his
family, particularly his mother, to whom I can relate so well because my mother is an OFW.
Jose Rizal contributed significantly to the development and improvement of that poor and
uncivilized region. Rizal was able to build his own home a location where he may teach young
people and others who want to obtain information by living in his place. It was really kind and
compassionate of him to dedicate his effort and time to imparting his knowledge to those who
were less fortunate. The period in Rizal's life when he met Josephine has been the most
enchanting. Their love had been an epitome of unconditional love regardless of the fact that no
one was able to marry them, they still continue and made vows in their unique way.
Unfortunately, it was discovered that Josephine Bracken was a spy and they had an argument
with Rizal while pregnant, which to her miscarriage. It upset me because they had lost their
child, but it also demonstrated Rizal's devotion to his country. One scene in the film takes place
prior to the outbreak of the revolution, and Andres Bonifacio seeks advice from Rizal. They send
Dr. Pio Valenzuela to Rizal in Dapitan to inform Rizal of their intention to organize a revolution
against the Spaniards, and he did not accept the offer for the following reasons: Filipinos are not
yet prepared for such a terrible revolution due to a lack of machinery and money, and he did not
desire a senseless battle that would result in the deaths of many people. This exile contributed
to the strengthening of his patriotism, love for his family, and affection for the people of Dapitan.
It was also during these times that he suffered, as he was mistreated and threatened by the
Spaniards but he did not stop fighting for our freedom.
Cesar Montano's portrayal of Jose Rizal in the film was amazing, and the actor accomplished
the performances and lines excellently, which touched my heart. It chronicles his life from
childhood through his execution at the hands of Spanish forces. It also showed Rizals' works,
and I got a sense of how he saw Filipino culture during the Spanish era. There was a scene in
the film regarding Spanish friars and the violence of the Spaniards against the Filipinos. It also
depicted the GomBurZa's execution. I was saddened and annoyed when Rizal was captured in
Fort Santiago and charged with rebellion, sedition, and illegal association. Rizal began to foretell
his stories and what he knew about Spaniards, and when his story begins, it begins with his
family, and for me, it demonstrates the Filipino virtues that his mother taught him. In 1872, he
was brought to study at the Ateneo Municipal, where he learned Spanish. Later, he was sent
abroad to get more knowledge and accomplish his objective. There are many lessons in this film
that influenced me, one of them is the young Pepe who values family and education. The facts
that I witnessed in the film made the movie heartwarming. I experienced a range of feelings
while viewing the film. It motivates and inspires me to appreciate my education, my family, and
my country. It also pained me and made me wonder why cruelty is required to obtain freedom.
Bayaning 3rd World is a sophisticated film done in the style of investigative journalism that aims
to debunk the myth surrounding our national hero Jose Rizal. It seeks to clarify concerns
regarding Rizal's life that are rarely addressed in Philippine history books, while also analyzing
his impact on current Philippine history. It seeks to clarify concerns regarding Rizal's life that are
rarely addressed in Philippine history books, while also analyzing his impact on current
Philippine history. It made me wonder and examine the things he has done in his life. We've
heard about the positive things about him, but we've never heard about the bad things he's
done throughout his life. We really don’t know what really happened during that time which
made us raise questions.

What I enjoy best of the three movies I've seen is the one with Cesar Montano in the role of
Jose Rizal. His performance astounded me, and he even clearly delivers his lines. It depicts
Rizal's life and works from his childhood to his death. I particularly applaud the film for its daring
in depicting the Catholic Church's injustices during the Spanish period. In our modern world,
there are still injustices, racism, prejudice, and abuse. We are still blinded and scared to fight for
our rights. Human rights were still denied, especially during Oplan Tokhang, which resulted in
the deaths of innocent people. If you criticize the wrongdoings of the government, you will be
labeled as "dilawan." and It breaks my heart to think that we haven't learned from our past
mistakes. We do not honor our heroes' struggle for liberty, but we continue to ignore the
government's wrongdoing. For me, this film will be an eye-opener and a reminder of our past
experiences with the mistreatment of Spaniards, and I will undoubtedly recommend it to
everyone in order to gain information and the courage to fight for their rights, love our nation,
and to perform unselfish acts as Rizal did.

The three films are about Jose Rizal's life and works, and seeing them will reawaken the
national spirit in the hearts of all Filipinos. It emphasizes the value of family, brotherhood, and
patriotism. Dr. José Rizal, the Philippines' national hero, is recognized not only for his
intelligence but also for taking a position and fighting the Spanish colonial administration. While
his death triggered a movement to end oppression, Rizal will be honored for his devotion to the
Filipino people of our country. His dedication, patriotism, love, commitment, and passion will live
on in my heart and mind for the rest of my life. As a criminology student, I see Rizal as a role
model and inspiration to be a better student, son, brother, and future law enforcement, officer. I
will instill this in my life that whatever the pain and hardship, we will continue to fight, especially
when fighting for our country’s rights and good. Be a voice for those who are unable to speak for
themselves. I will always be grateful to have a hero like him who is unselfish and has an
unconditional love for our country.
