Operation of the local exhaust ventilation in the form of a

nozzle.

Instruction for the first part of the project

SECTION 3_David Fernández Maseda, Manuel Vega Rodríguez

A computational evaluation of the operation of the functioning nozzle shall be

performed for the following data and using the attached spectrum:

for filter and fan

A-A measuring cross-
section

with a round nozzle with a flange.

Design assumptions:

- dust entrainment velocity: 2 m/s,

- transport speed: 18 m/s,

- the shape of the nozzle: a round nozzle with a flange,

- dimensions of the nozzle: Ø 900 mm,

- the extreme position of pollution:

- to the side of the axis: Y = 360 mm,

- distance from the surface of inlet: X = 630 mm,

- air temperature in the hall: 24 °C,

- atmospheric pressure: 1012 hPa,

- air humidity in the hall: 7.0 gH2O/kg p.s.,

- conduit cross-section: Ø 720 mm.
