Sanitary Construction Levels
CleanMove™ Conveyors are offered in three different sanitary construction levels. This allows you to meet
industry and application specific government compliance standards while minimizing equipment cost.

The CleanMove Standard is an economical solution with non-corrosive benefits

for handling of packaged food or pharmaceuticals in a low moisture
environment. The equipment can be wiped-down or washed using mild
standard detergents and pressure (up to 100 psi). It features a bolted, #4 polish
stainless steel frame construction; and stainless steel pulleys and hardware.

The CleanMove Plus is ideal for processing basic non-cultured food items like
bakery goods or snack foods, as well as fruits and vegetables and canning
lines. The equipment is designed for medium to high pressure washdown (up
to 1,500 psi) with the use of corrosive chemicals for cleaning. It features a
bolted, non-pitted continuous welded, #4 polish stainless steel frame
construction. The design also features food-grade, stainless steel bearing with
polymer housing and epoxy painted (or stainless steel) motors.

The CleanMove Ultra is designed for high caustic and high pressure washdown
processes (up to 1,500 psi), for minimizing bacteria growth. Allowing for CIP
(Clean In Place) and COP (Clean Out of Place) options, this line is designed for
ultra raw meats, poultry and fish as well as dairy products. Ultra features a
polished, sealed tube frame construction with non-pitted welds, and a #4
polish or bead blast finish. It also features stainless steel motors and bearings
along with premium sanitary construction.

Advantages & Features:

• Sanitary stainless steel construction • High quality components and materials
• Designed to FDA, 3-A, NSF and BISCC regulations • Large variety of options and accessories
• Easy to clean and maintain • Full application and engineering support
• Heavy duty construction • C

Drive Options

The CleanMove Standard conveyor series offers a variety of different drives. Depending on
the sanitation requirements of the conveyor, our standard industrial motors can be
upgraded to washdown duty units.

Direct Drive - Positioned at the discharge on the right or left. Directly mounted to the
conveyor frame. Most economical and sanitary option.
Bottom Mount Drive - Positioned at the discharge on the right or left. Conveyor driven
via chain and sprocket. Perfect for speed options.
Mid-Mount Drive - Positioned at nearly any point along the length of the conveyor.
Allows for idlers on both ends.

Chemical Cleaners
The CleanMove Standard conveyors are designed for applications that do not require the use
of heavy cleaning agents or pressurized washdown.

The standard motors and controllers for the CleanMove Standard should not be exposed to
water or humid conditions. If such conditions exist, please upgrade to the optional
washdown rated motors and controls.

The conveyors can be cleaned via wiping down with water and non-industrial cleaners, as
well as blown off via pressurized air. Do not use water sprays over 100 psi with this unit.

Always protect motor and controller when cleaning.

Drive Options
The CleanMove Plus conveyor series provides multiple drive and motor options. The
standard motor option is epoxy painted washdown duty units.

CleanMove Plus conveyors are designed to withstand medium to high pressure water spray
(up to 1,500 psi) in conjunction with chemical compounds for cleaning and sanitizing in food
processing area.

The following chemical compounds can be used on our CleanMove Plus conveyors:

Complex Phosphates
These chemical compounds efficiently penetrate,
Sodium TriPoly Phosphate
dislodge, and carry away surface contamination
Tartaric Acid
with low corrosion to the frame.
Formic Acid

Peroxide Compounds (H2O2) Eliminates broad spectrum microorganisms, spores

Per-Acetic Acid and viruses. Biodegradable. Less corrosive when
Acid Anionic used in dilution.

Bleach These chemical solutions are less corrosive and

Detergents concentrate on the destruction of microorganisms.
Soap They also offer general protection from
Alcohols contaminations.

(up to 1,500 psi). When used with strong chemical compounds (listed below) it is used to
eliminate a wide range of bacteria and microorganisms.

The following chemical compounds can be used on our CleanMove Ultra equipment:

Chlorine Dioxide Compounds These chemical compounds are effective

Na-or Ca-Hypochlorite (Na/CA OC Cl) against a wide range of bacteria. Highly
Gaseous Chlorine (Cl2) corrosive effect.

Alkaline Compounds
These chemicals compounds concentrate on
Aldehydes
the destruction of microorganisms. Medium
Phenols & Cresols
corrosive effect.
Acids

Quaternary Compounds (QUATS)

These chemical compounds disinfect
Amphotensid bacteria, viruses and fungi. Low corrosive
Iodophors effect and odorless.

Spray System
Clean in place (CIP) spray systems are designed to
clean the chain of a plastic modular belt conveyor
as it travels past the water spray nozzles. These
systems can be mounted above (as shown) or
below the belt. They reduce sanitation time and
water usage. Commonly paired with a drip pan for
overspray collection. Water is forced through the
hinges of the chain, and the top and bottom of
the chain is cleaned simultaneously.

Drip Pan
Stainless steel drip pans can be Front View
added for a variety of uses. They
can be used to collect liquids and
particulates that fall from the
product. Drains can be provided,
if required, in a variety of
locations with or without
threading. Drip pans can also be
mounted in a hinged fashion to
allow for quick and easy cleaning.

Belt Scraper
Belt scrapers are designed to remove
product build-up from the belt and help
release products better. The belt scraper
has adjustable tension in order to
accommodate a wide variety of products.
Stainless steel construction with food
grade urethane scrapers.

94 mk CleanMove Conveyor Technology

Chute
Chutes are designed to feed
product onto or off of the
conveyor. Constructed out of
stainless steel.

CleanMove incline conveyors. Hoppers are
designed to move and guide product onto
the conveyor. They are ideal in applications
where a large quantity of product needs to
be metered out. They can be designed to
be removable and to work with your
cleaning process. Stainless steel
construction.

Lane Divider
mk lane dividers are constructed out
of stainless steel or food grade plastic.
They can be furnished either in an
adjustable or non-adjustable fashion.
Lane dividers are used group product
into lanes.

Ceiling Support
Saves on floor space and ideal when
conveying at high elevations. Ceiling
supports can be provided with or without
the drop rods. Stainless steel construction. Detail

Conveyor Cover
Covers can be provided for any of our
conveyors, and come in clear
polycarbonate or stainless steel versions.
They improve operator safety and
protect product from contamination.
Covers are designed with a hinge
feature, which allows for easier cleaning.

Belt Lifter
Featured in the CleanMove Plus and Ultra series
conveyors. Commonly used on fabric and
positive drive belt conveyors but can be utilized
on virtually any conveyor platform. Designed to
lift the belt off the conveyor surface for inner
frame cleaning.

Belt lifters are easy to use. Simply engage the

lever to raise and lower the belt. They provide a
fast and effective way to clean the inside of the
frame. They are typically used in conjunction with
cut out windows on the frame and tip up tails.
