INTRODUCTION:

Hi,my name is Damian Pierre,my hobbies are mostly making edits and in my free time
i like to play games such as street fighter, listen to music from artists such as
Gorillaz,Krptic Unknown Modjo and many more, furthermore i like watching anime
and reading manga as their fantasy and different settings give me more knowledge as i
find myself picking up their vocabulary and expanding my own with it as well as
being exposed to the different mangas that i read, speaking of reading one of my not if
my favourite pastime killer would be reading comic books, whenever i read a new
comic book whether it be dc or marvel i get attached to the story and while reading i
see new panels which i can later then use for my edits and share them throughout the
community which has given me my love for them back when i was at a young age.
RATIONALE:
I Chose Fibre and Decorative Arts because Miss Kelly Simmons had cords provided
for us and i thought learning all these different knots can be proven useful if we were
to be either out in the wild or needed extra cash to which we can sell our productions
for a small or large profit.I also chose Graphic And Communication due to me being
very good at editing and using Adobe After Effects.

What COMES TO MIND
WHEN I HEAR VISUAL ARTS:
Back then whenever i heard the words Visual Arts the first thing to come to mind was
always painting and drawing when i was younger, but now that i've grasped a better
understanding for it i currently think of Visual Arts as a way to freely express yourself
by producing pieces that comes from the heart or is a representation of yourself to
which others can see and appreciate.
GRAPHIC AND COMMUNICATION DESIGN:

Graphic design (or communication design) can be traced all the way back to 15,000 bc
and it involves effective visualisation of communication concepts, primarily in print
and electronic media (including interface design), in the context of business and
technology, socio-political, cultural and educational environments, in transmitting
government and institutional aims.

FIBRE AND DECORATIVE ARTS:

Broadly-speaking, many decorative arts (eg. basket-weaving, cabinet-making,

ceramics, tapestry and others) FIBRE ARTS. Fiber art refers to fine art whose
material consists of natural or synthetic fiber and other components, such as fabric or
yarn.It can be considered as both new and an old form of art. The use of fibrous
materials and the appearance of the woven, knitted, printed, or in other ways treated
materials has long appeared in our history. Traditionally, fibrous materials emerged as
functional objects but in the aftermath of the World War II and with further
investigation into the nature of an art object, fiber art slowly became a force in its own
right. During the 1950’s, as various artists-craftsmen received recognition, the term
fiber art was coined to help describe their work.

ARTS ARTISTS:
Vanessa Barragao is an all-ecological textile artist based in Portugal who after
graduating from the Master Program at the Lisbon University in Fashion and
Textile Design came to open her own design studio in 2014.
Her inspirations of the ocean are depicted in many of her art works, which is
deeply connected with her growing up and living in the seaside in the south of
Portugal.

Judit Just is a textile artist raised and born in Barcelona, Spain, but she
currently lives in Asheville, North Carolina where she moved in 2013 and
where she develops her textile’s brand, known by Jujujust. She studied
fashion design, sculpture and textile art, where she specialized in weaving
and embroidery. She grew up surrounded by textiles and actually learned
weaving craftsmanship through her mom when she was little. She takes
some old weaving techniques and gives it a twist using vibrant colour
combinations and a bunch of beautiful vintage threads.
FIBRE AND DECORATIVE ART PIECES:
Macrame Owl:
Materials:
Blue Macrame Cords
A Pair Of Scissors
A Ring
2 Big Beads
Meter Ruler

1)For the first step I used the meter ruler and measured my cords to be about
four meters in length and cut 5 other cords which were the same length.

2)I then proceeded to double the cords in half which allowed me to work with
double the amount of cords I originally had and began doing the larks knot.

3)I left the left and rights first cords as i began working on the owls head and did
3 square knots directly under the larks knots.

4)With the square knots done and out of the way i began proceeding with the
double hitch knots on both left and right sides to begin the formation of the owls
eyes.

5)I then added tape to the cords bottom and then forced beads into the position
of the eyes, and proceeded doing another set of double hitch knots to close off the
eyes.
6)I then did another set of clove hitch knots on both sides of the owl and then
proceeded to do a series of double hitch knots as shown in the photo above.

7)I Then finished off by gathering all the strings and doing a gathering knot.
FIBRE AND DECORATIVE ART PIECES:
Plant Pot Hanger:
Materials:
Blue Macrame Cords
1 Piece Of White Cord
A Pair Of Scissors
Meter Ruler

1)Firstly I measured my cords to be about 2 meteres and then cut 4 cords to be

about the same length.

2)I then did the Overhead Knot I then separated all my cords and made 2 groups
of 4 cords which allowed it to be easier for me to switch between my cords.

3)I started with my first set of cords and began to start with square knots on both
side to make it look like a matching pair.

4)I differentiated by starting to do some spiral knots on my piece as doing square

knots in my opinion would make my piece not look bland.
5)I then looked up how to do more knots as the minimum required
amount of knots to do were 3 and i learnt how to do the butterfly knot.

6)i did the butterfly knot and then left a lot of space for the pot to sit
in for later.

7)I then made a gathering knot at the end and unravel the cords and
they became frizzy.

8)I then cut the cords so that they weren’t uneven and they were all
the same length.
