Instance 1: When Lisa entered office on very first day Linton remarked that he does not like
MBA graduate that too from Harvard Business school. This kind of disinterested welcome she
received was first friction point between Lisa and Linton.

Instance 2: Richard clerk, the group project manager who had impressed during hiring
process barely recognize Lisa on her first day.

Instance 3: Scoville’s condescending manner in which he spokes to her and he was acting like
an overbearing brother and he always put Lisa on pressure by giving last minute workload
that too like copying reports was the main friction point.

on MBA graduates and welcomed her in a
disrespectful way.

Neuroticism High In the beginning we saw Scoville acted nice to


Lisa, listened to her and answered all doubts
and query, but when it comes on pure and
fresh’s pricing strategy, he threw out his temper
and tantrum and indulged in an argument. Due
to his emotional instability his neuroticism
score is high.
Scoville is very emotional person according to me and Lisa can initiate emotional connect
with him over a small tea break. She could assess what ticks him and what does noy by
connecting him outside of the office on an emotional level.Scoville’s increasing reliance on
her can improve relationship between them.

Lisa should develop her conversational skills. Lisa can make herself more visible by getting
onto interesting project that increase her dependencies and visibilities to Linton and Scoville.
This would make other colleagues mention good things about her and this will also create
network to influence and motivate her.

Lisa should stop acting like a learner and be more assertive with her pitch relevant ideas
during meetings.

Question 4

Instead of throwing negative comments directly Linton could have presented the opportunities
where she can present herself assertively and improve herself. Linton could have gave her a
room to grow scope and schedule one to one discussion session quarterly basis.

She can also exchange favors with Scoville by helping him with tasks or she can influence him
to accept her points of view.

Assertiveness: Lisa can be more assertive in her conversation with Scoville and Linton. The
conversation with Lisa when Linton said that she does not like MBA’s and she could have
given her assertive feedback to Scoville about his abhorrent style of management. This could
have minimized her negative experiences.

Question 7
Yes, There were breach of trust, I’m mentioning below incident as an example:

1. Scoville was forcing Lisa to do Copy work and Lisa denied as she was busy and that
made Scoville angry stating “ Oh, I see, you’re not good at copying”
2. Scoville complained to Linton stating exactly the same which was going behind her
and a clear breach of trust.

Question 8

Absolutely Lisa should quit the job at Houseworld and there are many reasons. I’m
mentioning few of them here:

1: Lack of Ethics: There is a clear lack of business ethics and moral values in her higher
management- Linton and Scoville. In future this will keep demotivate Lisa to deliver high
productivity.

2: Lack of Team bonding: There is a lack of team bonding and team management from typing
issues to copying incident. This will hamper overall growth.

3: Unprofessional: Scoville shown many unprofessional behaviors towards Lisa and higher
management did not take a single step against Scoville. Other team members also raise
similar issue but nothing concrete against him has happened. Hence Lisa immediately needs to
find something better and drop her resignation.
