“Safe Space Act”

According to the webinar that has happened. The Safe Space Act is a Gender-based
sexual harassment in the workplace involve unwelcome sexual advances, requests or
demand for sexual favors or any act of sexual nature. The offender may be employers or
other persons of authority, influence or moral ascendancy in a workplace. Employers who
do not take action may be held liable. The Congress has enacted Republic Act No. 11313
to be known as the Safe Spaces Act or the "Bawal Bastos Act" to address existing gaps
and issues on equality. The crimes of gender-based streets and public spaces sexual
harassment are committed through any unwanted and uninvited sexual actions or
remarks against any person regardless of the motive for committing such action or
remarks. Gender-based streets and public spaces sexual harassment includes the
catcalling, wolf-whistling, unwanted invitations, misogynistic, transphobic, homophobic,
and sexist slurs; Gender-Based Sexual Harassment (GBSH), Restaurants, bars,
cinemas, malls, buildings, and other privately-owned venues open to the public has to
have a zero-tolerance policy against gender-based street and public area sexual

Vehicles (PUV). The Land Transportation Office (LTO) may suspend or revoke the license
of transportation operators who commit gender-based street and public space sexual
harassment acts, and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board
(LTFRB) may suspend or revoke the franchise of perpetrators found to have committed
acts constituting sexual harassment in PUVs. Gender-Based Sexual Harassment in
Streets and Public Spaces Committed by Minors. If the offense is committed by a minor,
the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will take the necessary
disciplinary action and implement the diversion program as outlined in R.A. No. 9344, The
program will incorporate age-appropriate gender sensitivity training and anti-sexual
harassment awareness programs often known as the "Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act
of 2006.". There are many more Gender-Based Sexual Harassment that’s under in the
Safe Space Act or known as the Anti Bastos Law under the Republic of the Philippines.

I am honored to have a chance to join the webinar about the Safe Space Act and the
PATTS Sino ang may alam campaign. The important reason is that I must know that in
the Philippines, some people are getting more unmannered and sexually perverted
person. It is good to have a Law about that like the safe space act or Anti-Bastos Law so
that the person who committed the can be punished by the law also rehabilitate the person
who committed a crime, in order to lessen the problem and also in schools are need to
teach on how to have some manners, respect and not to be rude and don’t be a pervert
person. We must do an action to know what is right and protect our people. “The world is
a dangerous place to live, not because of the people who are evil, but because of the
people who don't do anything about it.” – Albert Einstein.
