Program Analysis and Communication Plan

Program Title:

Social-Emotional Focused Leadership Teams

Issues:

• Building consistent, quality, social-emotional opportunities for all students,

that address the well-being and mindfulness of each child daily.

• Providing leadership opportunities that require all stakeholders to take

initiative in building a school culture that exudes positivity, integrity, and
respect, while allowing each stakeholder a sense of pride in helping to build
the culture in the school they call HOME.

• Building a sense of community with all stakeholders that provides a safe,

friendly, trusting environment that allows the “normal” return of all events
and opportunities within the school.

Program Description:

This program consists of two parts: the social-emotional daily practice of

mindfulness activities AND leadership teams that are comprised of students and
adults that create a culture of compassionate, respectful, strong communicators
who strive to make our school the very best it can be!
The social-emotional aspect of this program will consist of daily mindfulness
activities that are decided upon by the administration, staff, and students.
Thorough training will take place in Calm Classroom prior to the start of the school
year for all teachers and administration. Teachers will begin the year by using the
Calm Classroom manual, chimes, and ocean wave starry projector to provide daily
mindfulness experiences. These practices will be decided upon by all teachers
during the planning phase. Consistency with timing of mindfulness practices,
materials used, and

I have had quite the journey over the past 3 years. During this time I have been
able to closely work with administration, teachers, literacy coaches, and students
at four different buildings. The practices, cultures, and initiatives that I have
experienced at each of these buildings has helped to prepare me for the
leadership role I am in today. Currently, I am an Interim Principal at Graebner
Elementary. As I am finishing out the 2020-2021 school year, I feel confident
that I will be given the opportunity to lead my own elementary building in the very
near future. By traveling to multiple buildings and working with many different
types of people with very different types of leadership skills, I have learned who I
am and who I want to be as a leader. The issue that I chose to deeply analyze is
the social-emotional practices that are happening at buildings and how needs of
every child are being met throughout the day. As an aspiring leader of my very
own school, I have chosen to devise a plan that will build community amongst the
staff, students, and families within the school while addressing the social-
emotional needs of all stakeholders. Additionally, my plan will incorporate
leadership teams of both staff and students that will create a culture of
compassionate, respectful, strong communicators who strive to make our school the
very best it can be!

I am vested in creating this vision for my future school because I believe that as
we begin to return to our new sense of normal in the 2021-2022 school year we, as
leaders, have the opportunity to create a rich environment where students take
active leadership roles to create the atmosphere with the building that promotes
positive relationships amongst all stakeholders. These same leadership teams will
help to create learning opportunities that foster strong social-emotional
foundations for all students and staff. I will build this plan with purposeful
discussions with all stakeholders prior to the start of the school year. By involving
ALL stakeholders, I will be able to address the challenges that may arise during
the process and build a sense of true community. EVERYONE will feel a great
sense of pride and ownership of the cuture that is created with the hard work and
dedication it will take to plan a thorough plan from start to finish.
