Act 1-C

Activity 1:

Applying the Scientific Method Direction: Follow the scientific method focusing on what you can
immediately observe that is happening in the environment at 8 o’clock in the morning. Use the data
sheet below to write down your answers. For the data analysis, assume that you performed the test and
were able to prove that your hypothesis is an answer to the problem. Location of Observation:

l. Making observation and stating the problem.

---- Why are most people waking up early in the morning?

ll. Formulating Hypothesis

1. Waking up early in the morning can lead to a proactive day.

2. People can have more time to do their work.

3. It helps people on enjoying quiet time or less interruption.

lll. Testing Hypothesis with an experiment

1. Conduct an observation with the desired respondents

2. Interview with the specific respondents about their work

3. Provide a survey questionnaire to a few people who do not want to have an interview

4. Look and compile a review of related literature

5. Fact-finding about the benefits of waking up early in the morning.

IV. Stating the Conclusion

Most people are waking up early because of its relation to their work. Basically, this activity really helps
them to be proactive during the day. As I observed, people get more energy because getting up early
helps their mindset to be goal-oriented. Moreover, I ask a few about their reason for getting early out of
bed in the morning and the majority of them answered because it gives them peace of mind and they
can focus on what they needed to finish during the day. Similarly, having early doing their work like
making their time free from hassle or they can have break time, especially those who are farmers. Some
researchers and even in a medical sense have concluded benefits of waking up early include productivity
in work, being mentally focused, having time to do body strength or exercise, and time for
contemplating or planning for the whole day's work.
Guide question:

1. If the methods are unorganized chronologically, conducting the whole process will be difficult. There
will be a conflict between stating the problem and summarizing the results.

2. I think it would best to have an environment that includes the population that will be observed and
questioned and the place where the observation will happen, the discussion about the methodological
process, and the recommendation for further investigation or encouragement to people.
