be more methods to combat this issue.
It is true that the implementation of stricter regulations can indeed reduce the probability of
dangerous driving. Because drivers may take into account the higher disciplinary costs and will
pay attention to their behavior on the road. For example, in Beijing, China, the government
adjusted its laws on courtesy of pedestrians. In the past, when a vehicle was disrespectful to
pedestrians at an intersection, there was no substantial penalty, but the intersection was the
place with the highest probability of a traffic accident. So now when the same thing happens, the
driver’s license will be deducted points.
However, strengthening punitive measures will not cure the symptoms but not the root cause.
The right way should be to start in many ways. For example, it is more difficult to obtain a driver’s
license test, which strengthens students’ awareness of safe driving. At the same time, the
government should expand safety education so that people can learn about the concept of safe
driving in their daily lives.
