Being allocated to a less successful team will be a wonderful experience for me as a team

leader even though it could be a challenge to inspire and inspire team members to develop.

However hard it may be, upgrading the underperforming team will be a worthwhile effort

given the many methods for increasing team motivation & performance including

determining training requirements, inspiring, and enabling members of the team. When a

supervisor or manager joins an underperforming team, he or she will get valuable

management experience that will benefit the team as a whole.

Once a team was taken over is underperforming, the first step will be to determine the

training requirements for the group members to discover the weak areas which are causing

individual inefficiency. I will suggest training programs for particular workers after

evaluating the training requirements and monitor changes over time to evaluate the efficiency

of training programs (Pytel-Kopczyńska 2019). The next stage is to encourage the team via

the use of incentives and transfer of authority. Allocating members of the team to leadership

responsibilities stimulates them and provides them with an opportunity to learn about the

responsibilities of management & supervision

Empowerment is also an efficient technique to improve team performance after assuming

responsibility as a manager or supervisor. Empowerment consists of involving team members

in the decision-making and team transformation process, which provides team members a

feeling of appreciation and considers leaders to be fair and accessible (Soni, 2020). The

process of empowering a low-performing team would also involve recognizing team

members who demonstrate progress after participating in training programs or after

improvements are implemented in other areas.

Every responsibility is divided among colleagues in a well-structured & inspired team since

various individuals create ideas for future growth, make expansion plans into areas that have
not yet been covered, and build connections with prospective partners or customers. Giving

workers the ability to make decisions and training members of the team would almost always

result in the project success initiated by a team that has established open communication

among its members (Pytel-Kopczyńska 2019). Aside from learning various methods for

increasing personal efficiency and helping the team in sustaining high-performance rates, the

manager or supervisor will also gain valuable experience throughout the team improvement

phase.
