PART 1 INSTRUCTION: Write your own statement of belief concerning gender, gender roles, sexual orientation, and gender
identity. Complete each sentence to create your own statement of belief. Write your statement in the following order:
1. Belief on what gender is.
2. Belief on the role of women and men.
3. Belief on intimate heterosexual and homosexual relationships.
4. Belief towards gender identity (e.g., Can a person decide to be a man or a woman? Are there any other categories?)

My Statement of Beliefs
The following are my personal beliefs that I firmly hold concerning gender and gender issues:

I believe that gender is… all about respect and acceptance. For me gender is all about respect because as I learned on this
class, gender has a lot of sides, opinion, statement, information and explanation, it all came from different people, sites
organizations or even institutions and all of this coexisted together to form what gender is, through respect that each of it gains.
We have different kind of opinions regarding on this matter but we must remember that everybody has the right to express what
they want and every body has the right to express what’s in there heart so we must respect each other. And off course when
there is respect there must also be acceptance. If we accept everyone’s opinion and respect it there will be no trouble at all
because as I said earlier we all have our opinion regarding on the topic of gender, so it’s just all about respect and acceptance
to co exist with each other with no trouble, that is what I think truly what gender is, there is respect and acceptance no matter
the gender or opinion about it. For me that is what gender is all about.

I believe that a woman is… is a symbol of purity and perseverance. Women must be respected because basically it is what
must be done, it is proven that they must be protected and respected. They are the symbol of purity for me that caries a gentle
and kind heart, so I think we must not violate them and abuse them, instead we must protect them and care for them. And for
the women of course you are a symbol of purity so as much as possible you must be pure and act pure as it should be,
because you are a women guided and created by God not by the society. Women are also a symbol of perseverance because
even though they are down they will still continue to fight for there rights and for the goal that they want to meet or gain. A great
example of this is there fight for there status on the society, in the past years they have been discriminated and seen as low and
weak, they have been violated and abused a lot, but today as we all know because of the strong women who fight for their
rights and status they are now considered by men as equal in many works, they have now the rights that they don’t have before
and as the years go by they continue to progress as women. They persevere and fight even they are being pulled by many
problems and obstacles in their way, they still manage to gain what they are today, truly amazing. Women is truly a symbol of
perseverance.

I believe that a man is… a symbol of strength and reliability. Men are the strong ones we have the strength to do many kind of
things both individually and as a group. So as a symbol of strength we must live up to the expectation to the society and to the
task at hand with all our might. We are oblige to help and protect the weak specifically both women and children because God
has given us the strength to do so, so we must do it and be with it. Men can do a lot of things as men because we are basically
stronger so we must use this strength to help the society or community to be better. As the old saying says “With a great power,
comes with a great responsibility” so men must use his strength to protect and help the society or community. Men are also a
symbol of reliability because basically men have the strength and can do a lot of things you can always rely on us many things.
You can rely on us for your protection, for your help to finish a work, to give you a hand in carrying large objects and many
more. In the bible there are a lot of reliable men, like King David, King Solomon, Jesus Himself and many more, same goes in
history and today’s society. We are reliable in many ways so I believe that men are truly a symbol of reliability.

I believe that intimate, marital relationship is for… men and women only. This is not to criticized anyone but I’m a Christian and I
am stating my own knowledge and what I have learned regarding this matter. It is clearly said in the bible that men and women
can only have marriage, specifically one man one woman because it is said there that God created them as partners and no
other more. God created only Adam and Eve as partners, a woman and a man so it is basically human is only a man and a
woman and no other gender stated. There is also instances that God has given punishment in violating this rules like what
happens to the place of Sodum and Gomura, men there likes to have intimate relationship with other men, even the angels that
visited there place, they want to be intimate with them, that’s why God punished them and destroyed them. I am not stating this
to bash other genders, I am here to state what I know, I respect them because we are all humans but I believe that when it
comes to intimacy and marriage, men is only for women and vise versa.
I believe that the identity of a woman or a man is based on… their own biological aspects. If they are born as men then they are
men, if they are born as women then they are women. It is basically basing on their body features, a great example of this is the
puberty changes of a person. If you have the puberty changes of a man like voice deepens, Adam’s apple largess, and many
more then you are identified as a man, the same goes with a woman if you have menstruation you are clearly a women just like
that. It is basically basing on persons body and development. Even without puberty changes you can identify a person if he is a
man or a woman just basing on their physical aspects just like the reproductive body parts. It is basically identified based on
natural aspects.

PART 2 INSTRUCTION: Pangasinan State University (PSU) students have voted you to become the new president of the
Federated Student Government. Following this, an international organization has given you, as the president, a cash
amount of PhP 1,000,000.00 to fund a project that will respond to gender equality in PSU. What project are you going

II. RATIONALE
This project is a 1 month activities and seminar regarding Gender Equality. This is created to promote Gender Equality
and give a better view to the society about this topic through the activities and seminar that this program will offer. Job Offering
is also included in this program to promote equal opportunity for the community.

III. OBJECTIVES
The objective of this program is to promote gender equality through activities and seminars.
 To provide more knowledge about Gender Equality and deepen the communities knowledge about it.
 To promote the importance of Gender Equality to the society
 To offer equal opportunity to both men and women.

IV. EXPECTED OUTPUT

The people will now have enough knowledge about Gender Equality and use it in their everyday life. We are also
expecting then to share what they learned and promote Gender Equality to others. We also expect them to be happy that they
experience how good gender equality can be, an equal opportunity, for both men and women in the society.
