Topic: Innovative and "Responsible" business idea as an Ecological Entrepreneur

A. PARIJAAT Nursery
Introduction:
As an MBA student, my innovative and responsible business idea as an ecological entrepreneur is Plant nursery. I will
make a plant nursery named ‘Parijaat Nursery’ where I maintain plant until they attain a state where they can be
transplanted and grown in the natural soil environment. Parijaat or night flowering jasmine is the official state flower of
West Bengal and also a holy flower.
Business plan:
For this business I have to bring many endangered species of plant from different places and keep them in my nursery.
A decent space of land is required for this.
Moderate soil with amole water resources for this business and with needed nutrients.
Necessary tools and specific soil for specific plants required.
I have to create a simple website about my nursery and from where people can book their plants and from where orders
may come.
I will use social media to grow my business.
How it helps to the environment:
Plant semester carbon from the atmosphere which improves air quality. It also maintains the ecological balance. Plant
produces oxygen and also used for windbreak. It helps for raining and plants also absorb sound and reduces noise pollution.
Planting trees can also help to cool our home and saves energy.

B. How my business plan fulfils 2 criteria of ‘great business’ enterprise according to Kanter:

i. Long-term view:
In the long run, my organisation can also get some government projects for the reforestation. In a plant nursery are nurtured
by providing them with optimum growing conditions to ensure germination. Nursery saves considerable time for the raising
of the next corp. My nursery will have decorative growing art such as bonsai or water features and associated plant life. I
will produce desired number of seedlings at a cheaper cost. There must be some ethical rules in My planting and nursery
business to keep it in the long run.
ii. Innovation:
In my nursery, plant breeding innovation constantly evolving ideas and practices which enhance the field of plant breeding
by using science technology including cell biology, gene mapping and marker assisted breeding. For profit making I will
sell out the seeds also on market or to the people who is interested to buy those seeds. Seed is life, my vision is world
where the best quality seed is accessible to all. My mission is to promote plant breeding and innovation in seeds. We know
that developing better seed ultimately improves life.

C. Capacities of an ethical leader that influenced my choice of this business idea are:
i. Common purpose and values:
I have to create a good user friendly official website and a social media page, so that people will be influenced for planting
trees. By this I want to bring a social awareness for plantation. For every quarter my organization will arrange an event for
social awareness for plantation as well as free plantation in certain areas.
ii. Moral imperative:
I will arrange a team meeting in every 15 days for any better opinion to run the business and overall it brings a unity in the
team, so that we can work as team. I will arrange some knowledge based classes for all employees, so that there will be no
knowledge gap between my employees.
iii. Organisational integrity:
On each and every six months we will have a review session with all the employees so that they can express their problems
and suggest for betterment. We work for the environment not only for our personal profit.
