The Roman chronicles: A booming introduction

AAAAggghh! Thats how it all started. This is my life. Hello my name is Jack Materson. The next thing I found was myself freefalling off a skyscraper with nothing but a sword. Let me show you how it all started to the way beginning. There. Okay, It was a Saturday morning starting 7th grade. I was really didnt want to go because of stupid bullies that keep following you saying names. Hey, Jack are you okay? Nick said. You see, Nick has been my friend ever since 3rd grade. We have been doing awesome stuff together like going to rollercoaster, throwing mickey mouse down in Disneyland, and playing halo reach together. He had a pass for no p.e forever. He had crutches for having a disease in his legs but we still hang together. Yeah, Im fine. I said. Well, you dont look like Nick said. Im just tired So we walked into our school. Kensington Middle School. When we walked in the school exploded. I dont mean by figuratively exploded, I mean literally exploded. I felt the burst of flames coming to me from the hallway like a dragon. BOOM! I blacked out. I felt myself flying. All I could hear is the sirens and people screaming. Okay, so I blacked out. I think Im dead. No, Im not dead, Im possibly dreaming. I dont know but what I do know is

that Im perfectly fine, not a scratch. When I woke up I was in a hospital. When I stood up I felt like jell-o. Sit down, man Nick said. Nick, wh-what h-happened? I croaked. Just rest, Ill tell you everything when you wake up. He promised. Fine that was the last thing I said before I went to sleep. Jack! I woke up with a shock. I felt myself shaking. No not me, the earth. Earthquake! Nick yelled. The earth grumbled and grumbled. I got up right when my bed blocked the exit door.Weve got to get out of here! I yelled. Put your hand in your pocket, and get your sword he told me. I dont have one I replied.Besides my pockets too small, smart one! Just do it! he yelled. So I did what he said. I put my hand in my pocket. I felt a hilt, I pulled it out and came a sword. Whoa! I backed away like if it was radiant. Now use it to slash the mattress! he told me. Are you crazy? I have no experience! I shouted. Do it or well die! he yelled. This was crazy but I did it. I cut it like butter which was weird but we had no time. We ran. We went left then right then another right and found the stairs. I went shooting down, 8th, 7th, and 6th. When we went down until we found trouble at fourth. The stairs were not there, they got broken because of the earthquake. Jump! he said. From all the times he told me what we needed to do to survive, I never doubted him so I jumped. I felt a burst of air behind me. I do NOT know how I made it but I had no time to think because the hospital was crushing. We made it down to the first floor and found

that no one was here except the receptionist there waiting. I ran to him. The hospital is on fire you got to get out of here! I said. She smiled with sharp, pointy teeth. I turned pale. Ah, son of Jupiter, Ive been expecting you she said. I ran toward the doors but they were locked. No way out, son of Jupiter she said with a creepy smile. She stood up, growing bigger and scarier. I gripped my sword. Dont die Jack Nick told me. Ill try but before I fight, what is she?I asked She is-I am an echidna, sonny She interrupted. Now DIE! she yelled and jumped.
