3Ds Max

To bring out the actual image, press shift + Q

Render setup-f10, change width 1200 and height 600. Scroll down
and click assign render, in production, choose render as scanline
render.

OR

Readymade material click f10, change image render size (width + height), in assign
render, click mental ray renderer, ok.

Type m- for material. Click standard, arch & design, select a material.

For texture, make sure you download them(in bitmap)

To select the rest, click control + i.

Save the image as jpeg.

Click alt + w to work on one screen.

To add segments in a shape, click on modify and change segments. Click f4 to


show segments.

Click modify list, press f, D box & D cylinder. Click on the ‘+’ icon of the selected
part and click control points. Select the points and click scale tool to change the
angles.

Segments is to smooth up the object.

Click poly line, select the ones needed. To select preferred ones, press control.
Click bevel to bring in or out the selected pieces.

To smoothen, in modify list, type t- turbo smooth to smoothen the object.

In rendering view port, enable in render and in viewport.

Select vertex, click on a point, scroll to chamfer or llet. To increase smoothness


interpolician

In spline (where it selects all) you can go to outline and make an o set.

To give height to a line, modify-extrude- and change the height (scroll)

To subtract, draw a shape in the object, and then click on attach and then
extrude. Make sure they are set to edible spline and attached from the right.

To make the edges smooth, click f4 and then convert to editable poly and smoothen
the area by chamfering it.

Right click, options as follow: smooth, corner, bezier (movement in both sides) and
bezier point (movement in one side)

Click loop to select whole line in modify- 444

Select, compound, boolean to make shape on the other shape have the similar
cutting.

In re ne, you can move a point.

To deselect an object, press alt.

How to Work Quickly

To give a blow-in (like a pillow) e ect to an object, make an object and increase its
segments using the right side tools, in modify list, select cloth, scroll down and
make the gravity 00. Make self collision 2. In object property, select the available
choices and press cloth. Select which present, and in pressure type 3. Make Sure
you press OK.Click on simulate local and the turn it o and convert to poly.

If you want to join two vertexes, click on fuse from the right hand tools.

Sweep Modify-First draw any object (2D), and in front view, draw any shape (2D),
click modify list and select sweep. If you want your rst shape in the same extruded
shape as the second one, click use custom.

If you want to close a 3D object, select one vertex and click loop, then click border,
click on cap.

To make the 3D object thicker, in modify list, click shell.

Bevel pro le-First make two shapes, one line and another shape (both 2D) (one
drawn on top view, one drawn on front view), select top view diagram, click modify
list, and click on bevel pro le and click pick pro le and click on the 2nd diagram.

Apply materials to two parts. Firstly, after converting to poly, using polygon, select
two parts. Press m, and select your materials.

To change the rendering back ground colour, press 8. Select the colour and ok.

Bend modify-First draw objects and increase its segment. In modify list, click on
bend. Change the settings according to preference.

To give a lattice look to the object, make a 3D shape, go to modify list and select
lattice and change accordingly.

Cross Section-First draw 3 or 4 objects on top of each other, click on the rst
(bottom) object and change it to editable spline. Press on attach multiple, and click
attach. Go on front view and click cross section. Click on the points and drag. If
have many segments, select them and click divide and then click cross section.
Then enable rendering and viewport.

To add segments, convert to editable poly. Then select edge, and select object
edge. Right click on object, click on connect and apply. Remain on select edge and
scroll down and click on create shape from selection and click on linear radio
button. Press h, and select the shape. Click on enable render and enable view port.

To cut a 2D outline object from other outlines rstly change it to editable spline, then
attach then scroll down to boolean and click on union /subtraction /intersection and
click on the lines accordingly.

Bevel-Draw a 2D object. Go in modify list and click on bevel. This extrudes the
shape in di erent areas of the shape.
