You will be considered for admission based on the following criteria:
1. Qualifications
Prospective students must meet the following qualification criteria.
① Freshman must have finished or be scheduled to finish formal education of high
school. And TOPIK(Test of Proficiency In Korean) level above 2 is required.
② Transfer applicants must get TOPIK(Test of Proficiency In Korean) level above 3.
③ TOPIK level above 2 is available only for those students interested in Taekwondo and
Sports medicine. And transfer students must have completed two‐year college or at
least 2nd year of 4‐year university.

‐ An original, official high school or university diploma along with transcript

Public. And then they need to be sent to the certification authority (your
country’s embassy or any certified authority) for an Apostille Certificate.
‐ If your country has not signed the Hague Convention abolishing the
requirement of legalization for foreign public documents, you need to send
notarized documents to Korean embassy or Consulate in your country for their
authentication.

5. Other important things
① Entry
Students must arrive in Korea one week before new semester begins.
‐
‐ Prior to arrival, students are advised to acquire some knowledge about the
Korean climate, customs, culture, etc.

② Housing
Students will be given the priority to reside in Woosuk’s residence hall.

‐ The housing fee will be responsible for each student.
③ Visa(Type : D‐2)
Students are required to get a visa before arriving in Korea.
‐ A successful candidate will get an email admission letter from Woosuk together
with money transfer information. If an applicant transfers tuition and fees, visa
packet including a certificate of tuition payment and a certificate of admission
will be mailed.
‐ Visit the Consular section of the Korean embassy in your country of residence
with the visa package and apply for student visa.
‐ If your visa is not accepted or you should cancel your study all of a sudden, the
transferred money will be paid back to you excluding application fee.

2. Exchange Students
Students interested in joining the student exchange program will be recruited through
a process of pre‐selection by the Home University and recommended to Woosuk
University. The admission certificate will be issued to successful candidates by
Woosuk University. All procedures will be conducted in accordance with the
International Student Regulations of Woosuk University.
1. Qualifications
Prospective applicants must meet the following qualification criteria:
① Have adequate health, both physically and mentally
② Get a certificate of more than level 2 in the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK)
③ Have a minimum of one‐year full‐time study at the home university
④ Remain enrolled as regular degree candidates at the home university
⑤ Good academic standing

B. The documents such as certificates or credentials issued in languages other than
Korean or English must include official notarized translation, which is to be put

C. When submitting the documents to Woosuk University, the documents should be
arranged in the order of the list of the required documents stated above.
D. Submitted documents will not be returned to the applicant.
E. Incomplete or incorrect documents are subject to rejection by Woosuk University.
F. Screening will be done of the required documents only.
3. Course Registration
Exchange students may register for a minimum of 9 credits and a maximum of 18 credits
every semester; course registration for international students will be in one week before
the beginning of each semester.
Those students who want to take regular courses taught in Korean should discuss your
Korean language proficiency with the professor of the course to obtain permission. If
students want to take Korean language course in stead of regular courses, we will
be able to provide Korean language course. But please make sure whether home
university will award credits for your degree.
The period of study will be for the duration of the academic year in which study was
approved.

3. KOREAN LANGUAGE COURSE AT WOOSUK UNIVERSITY
The Institute of Korean Language and Culture (IKLC) has taught Korean language
and culture since 2004. Students come from many different countries including
Cameroon, Canada, China, Cambodia, Japan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Sudan, Sweden, USA,
Uzbekistan and Vietnam.
The IKLC offers Korean language classes for academic and general purpose catered for
current and prospective members of the University who are non‐native speakers of
Korean.
The program is organised into different levels, which are periodically rearranged
according to test results.
Currently a 15‐week is on offer, in which students shall take 20 hours a week. The
first 15‐week course runs from March to August and the second one does from
September to February of the upcoming year.
The level and therefore the proper class of students are decided on the basis of the
placement test. Its curriculum covers various subjects such as cultural experience of
Korea, Korean listening, Korean speaking, Korean reading, Korean writing, practical
Korean, Korean grammar and TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean).
