(i) P(the forecast was correct on a given day) = 175 /250 = 0.7
1 (ii) The number of days when the forecast was not correct = 250 – 175 = 75 2
So, P(the forecast was not correct on a given day) = 75 /250 = 0.3
103 x 107 = (100 + 3) (100 + 7)

In ∆ABC, ∠ABC + ∠ACB + ∠BAC = 180°
⇒ 69° + 31° + ∠BAC = 180°
3 ⇒ ∠BAC = 180° – 100° = 80° 2
Since, angles in the same segment are equal.
∴∠BDC = ∠BAC ⇒ ∠BDC = 80°
Let the angles of the quadrilateral be 3x, 5x, 9x and 13x.
∴ 3x + 5x + 9x + 13x = 360° 1
[Angle sum property of a quadrilateral]
4 ⇒ 30x = 360°⇒ x = 360∘30 = 12°
∴ 3x = 3 x 12° = 36° 5x = 5 x 12° = 60° 9x = 9 x 12° = 108° 13x = 13 x 12° = 156° 1
⇒ The required angles of the quadrilateral are 36°, 60°, 108° and 156°.
Volume of the cuboidal pit = l x b x h

Curved surface area of a cylinder = 2πrh
solution
⇒ 2πrh = 88 ⇒ 2 x 227 x r x 14 = 88 ⇒ r = 88×72×22×14 = 1 cm
∴ Diameter = 2 x r = (2 x 1) cm = 2 cm
Here, total number of bags = 11
6 ∵ Number of bags having more than 5 kg of flour = 7 2
∴ Probability of a bag having more than 5 kg of flour = 7/11
SECTION-B
p (x) = kx2 – √2 x + 1 and x-1 is factor 1
x-1=0, x=1
7 Since, p(1) = k(1)2 – (1) + 1
= k – √2 + 1 = 0 2
⇒ k = √2 -1
8 circumference of the dome = 17.6 m. Therefore, 17.6 = 2πr. 1
7
the radius of the dome = 17.6 × m = 2.8 m
2 x 22
1
The curved surface area of the dome = 2πr2 = 2 × 22 7 × 2.8 × 2.8 m2 = 49.28 m2
Now, cost of painting 100 cm2 is Rs.5.
1
So, cost of painting 1 m2 = Rs.500 Therefore, cost of painting the whole dome = 500 × 49.28
= Rs.24640

In ∆BCD, we have for given
∠BCD + ∠DBC + ∠CDB = 180° [Sum of angles of a triangle is 180°] and
⇒ ∠BCD + 70° + 30° = 180° (∠CDB = ∠BAC) figure
⇒ ∠BCD = 180° -100° = 80°
9 1
Now, in ∆ABC,
AB = BC [Given]
∴ ∠BCA = ∠BAC [Angles opposite to equal sides of a triangle are equal]
⇒ ∠BCA = 30° [∵ ∠B AC = 30°] 1
Now, ∠BCA + ∠ECD = ∠BCD
⇒ 30° + ∠ECD = 80°
⇒ ∠ECD = 80° – 30° = 50°

10 6x2 + 17x+ 5= 6x2 +2x+15x+5= 2x(3x+1) + 5(3x+1)= (2x+5)(3x+1) 3
