Introduction:
Home Service app is the new trend in the market of on-Demand applications. The demand
for Home Services Application will be on a rise as we imagine we all want comfort in our
lives. The trusted home services application with professional and qualified person can
repair and fix everything around your home in an efficient manner. Problems get
accentuated with rapid urbanization, rising incomes and abundance of low-cost workers.
People are constantly in a hurry and are willing to pay more to ensure a certain level of
service.
Problem Statement:
We live in a world where time is of prime importance. So often we end up putting our
important needs and wants on hold because we can’t find enough time from our busy
schedules or find the right person to help us do that. So we need to build an application
which helps us in hiring the right professionals.
Problem Solution:
As is the case with all the big problems, this one too has a simple and elegant solution that
Shelter Check will successfully capture and implement. It is basically an online directory of
service providers who can be booked as per your convenience for hiring services across 5
major categories – Home, Health, Events, Lessons and other personal services.
Methodology:
Software Requirements:
Language: Java
Database: Firebase
Operating System: Windows10/7/XP
Android Studio
Web Browser
Proposed System:
The proposed system consists of actors consisting of a worker and a client. The administrator
has initial rights to access and modify the website, where it needs to login to do so. Then the
administrator comes to the customer who wants to take advantage of our services, it has to be
before the registration and login process. A client can upload a file describing the services if
necessary. Once a request is made, it can forward it to the payment process and rate the
customer service to confirm the service once the service is over. And in the worst case if
customers are not satisfied with the service they can proceed with the return policy process.
Finally, a service provider that provides a service where they should also go through the
registration and login process and proceed with the uploaded files and inform them to
provide the service once the service is confirmed. Is done and when done after service.
Implementation:
Use-case diagram is a list of action or event steps, typically defining the interaction between
a role and a system, to achieve a goal.
Objectives:
• The objective of Shelter Check is to go a step further and enable users to find and hire the
right professional for all their needs.
• When choice is not a priority (e.g., carpenters, plumbers) customers can go ahead and book
a service on the app, and the professional will show up at the pre-appointed time.
• When choice and other factors come in, for instance in the case of wedding photographers,
yoga instructors and makeup artists, then Shelter Check matches the customers’
requirements with professionals who can fulfil these needs.
Outcome:
• This application can be used by a broad range of users which may include students living
alone, busy people and women living alone who don’t know about servicing etc.
• This project is responsive which increases its reliability and it can be used on Android
Devices.
