1 PROBO installation

PROBO is dedicated to be installed on Samsung smartphones. Supported devices are on

Probo website: https://probo.dynamic.nsn-net.net

Installation process is described in a separate manual called:

Manual covers all information required to root the device, install TWRP, XPOSED and PROBO
application.

Warning: rooting, installing TWRP, XPOSED should be done only once on each device.

Before installing new PROBO version the previous one should be uninstalled.

After installing the application on your smartphone, log in with these rules:

Use your login and password

2 Initial settings
2.1 APN

Before testing place SIM into terminal.

Change access point to APN=internet.

2.2 WIFI

Turn off WiFi in the terminal because otherwise the application will not work and will display
a message about lack of active DATA connection.

Note applies only to the time of testing.

2.3 Data limit on the SIM card

You should be aware that when you run the test, the data are transmitted in large
quantities, which can cause exhaustion of the limits assigned to the SIM card and thus reduce
download speed (eg. the lack of LTE).

Usually there is an SMS from the operator.

5 Test packs
5.1 What is test pack?

Test pack is set of tests, which can be executed one by one. They are associated with
Project (look at 4.1) and contain information about how many tests are inside pack, is it
acceptance test and its name. Test pack with acceptance status means, that user have to
execute test on Sites map (see more in 6.1). Without this status program goes directly to test
execution (6.8).

5.2 Viewing available test packs

To access list of test packs go to main menu, scroll down and choose option.

6 Description of the functionality of the PROBO

application
6.1 Verification of geographical sector compliance with a server data

The application automatically compares the coverage of the sector with the readings from the
terminal to the data from server within selected project.

The functionality is optional and you can disable it in the settings tab:

Settings-> Acceptance test->Automated logical compliance

After selecting above option application will condition to measure acceptance of correct
geographical- logical verification.

It is recommended to enable this functionality on a permanent basis, except for a station with
an unusual cover, e.g. internal antenna installations.

Expected coverage sector is represented on the map as a circle segment, as in the following
screen:

Green / red marker at the bottom of the screen (bottom right) indicates a positive or
negative verification. It informs about logical compliance. Logical compliance is when user is in
a field of currently connected site.

Color of the area varies according to the geographical position of the terminal (in the
center of the area - green color, beyond - the gray).

Information on the result of the verification is transmitted to the server.

6.2 Verification of the proper measurement area

The application automatically verifies whether the test is carried out in the area of proper
measurement guidelines.

Performing accurate measurement outside the desired area is possible, but requires a
comment with information about the cause of diversion.

Information on the result of the verification is transmitted to the server.

Color of the area varies according to the geographical position of the terminal (in the
center of the area - green color, beyond - the gray).

6.3 Locking the modem on band and technology (RAT)

The ected RAT in automatic

or manual mode.

Lock Mode can be changed in the settings:

Settings-> Acceptance test -> Lock to specific band and technology.

on the RAT corresponding to the sector selected from the menu after selecting

If you uncheck this option to lock the modem, it is necessary to select a bookmark
and choose the right RAT.

The subsequent selection of the measurement sector does not change the modem settings.

The list of available technologies and bands is available in Appendix A.

Making measurement
6.4 Measurement with manual band and technology selection (RAT)

Prior to performing the acceptance, you should lock the modem on a combination of
technology and bandwidth, so-called RAT.

This can be done with the button in menu

You should choose

Warning: this option is available after deselecting: Settings-> Acceptance test -> Lock to
specific band and technology.

The list of available technologies and bands is available in Appendix A.

Modem can be unblocked (set into auto mode) using the key .

The transitions between the different technologies and bands can be carried out directly,
without intermediate unlock condition.

Beside the possibility of blocking the modem on the selected RAT, there is a possibility
of blocking terminal on various technologies (2G, 3G, 4G) without specifying bandwidth. Band
selection is then done according to the rules imposed by the network.

Mode be used during LTE CA testing.

PROBO manual v 1.1

When you change the state of the modem there can be a momentary appearance of a
message of unavailability of connection DATA. This message should be confirmed.

6.5 Measurement with automatic band and technology selection (RAT)

After selecting this option, the modem is locked on the technology and the band assigned
to the sector, according to data from the server.

Warning: this option is available after selecting: Settings-> Acceptance test -> Lock to specific
band and technology

Measurement with automatic selection of technology and bandwidth cannot be used for
LTE CA measurements. Its use would block the term modem to single-carrier and disable
the aggregation to the different carrier. In this case, choose manual selection of technology and
bandwidth and lock the modem to mode.

When you change the state of the modem there can be a momentary appearance of a
message of unavailability of connection DATA. This message should be confirmed.

6.6 Getting sites map

All sites in default range of 5km (5000 m, 16404 ft) are automatically downloaded during
using Sites map (see below, 6.7).

If you want to increase or decrease range of downloading sites, go to Settings, then choose
Sites map. Click on Load sites in range and choose one of three options: 5km, 10km or 15km

6.7 The procedure for verification of geographical sectors and proper measurement
area.

[this is a measurement sequence within a single location]

To measure a cell you should go approx. 200m from the station and stand in the axis of the
sector.

This point is inside the zone. Accurate measurement area is highlighted in green.

The measurement should be performed under optimum radio conditions. (Appendix B)

After determining the automatic or manual RAT selection press on the pictogram of the tower,
which is visible on the map after selecting options

Under the map you can find a list of sectors downloaded from server by your location.

Information available on the map:

station number BTXXXX

Serving cell: information about the cell to which we are currently logged in (at
the top right side of the expansion)
a list of cells that are, according to the server data, available at the station (at
the bottom)
the position of the terminal (a point on the map)

When you select a cell at the bottom of the window the ID number of the cell AAXXXXXS
notation and Cell ID are displayed:

AA: system mark (BT=G900, NB=U2100, SN=U900, LB=L1800, LD=L800, LS=L2600)

XXXXX: site code

S: sector number

Additional information available: azimuth, LCI, band, PCI, technology.

Pressing Serving Cell (left) will automatically select the sector that currently supports the
terminal as a sector to measure.

Select the sector you want to measure from the drop-down list at the bottom:

Further action depends on the availability of areas of proper measurement and the
compliance of sectors distribution at the station with the data in the server.

Measurement is possible in two situations:

1. Properly verified geographical sectors are in compliance with server data and terminal is
in proper measurement area:

In case the geographic compliance has not been verified correctly measurement is
impossible. This can occur when the server data contains errors, the sectors have changed
locations towards a server data or azimuth antenna is set extremely bad.

It is possible to disable geographical sectors verification functionality and take

measurements without it. However, this is not advisable because of the need to pay attention
to the sector distribution in relation to the station documentation.

Disable geographical sectors verification functionality is indicated in the measurement report.

The only exception where the geographical sectors verification functionality should be
excluded is a case of measuring the internal antenna installations

The geographical sectors compatibility is reported at the terminal, as follows:

Lack of the geographical sectors compatibility is reported at the terminal, as follows
