1. Choose an example of an infomercial. Identify the persuasion tactics used in the

infomercial. What story does the infomercial tell?

 Infomercials often display toll-free numbers and urge viewers to “call now” or “provider
waiting for you” for products and services described as “limited time offers.” (The economic
times et al, 2022)

 For example, Bitis has launched an infomercial video on YouTube with the campaign theme
called “Đi để trở về”. Their achievements include the 250% increased sales compared to Tet
in 2017 and ranked No. 1 YouTube Ads Leaderboard Tet in 2018 (Bitis Vietnam et al).

 Bitis’ infomercials contain persuasion tactics that are audience-centered and actively
responsive to the customers’ taste as target young people who love new journeys.

- Their purpose is to design appropriate ads actively as touchpoints relevant to shoes-

lovers with the advantages of durability, comfortability, and affordability.

- These infomercials can provide additional information about a product or service and
incentivize people to visit Bitis’ website or to make a purchase. (Infomercial Marketer et
al)

 Bitis’ infomercial engages the stories in the minds of consumers with a very meaningful
message.

- Biti's encourages young people to pursue the true meaning of quality and meaningful
travel: each trip is for us to grow up, cherish the most beautiful family feelings and live
better every day.
2

- It captures the hearts of many young people because of its youthfulness and dynamism,
but still very simple and dear because of the presence of affection of the family. (Bitis
Vietnam et al).

2. How can you create an audience-friendly report? Explain.

 To make your report more engaging and audience-friendly, we should follow the below list:
- Apply PAIBOC analysis (Purpose, Audience, Information, Benefits, Objections and
Context) to capture the main values and deliver clearer messages.
- The content is in parallel and well-justified with margins.
- White space is necessary to separate sections so that the content is less crowded and
facilitates the reader’s findings.
- One consistent font is required and the size of heading, subheading and content are
different.
- One paragraph consists between 2 to 6 lines with square paragraphing.
- Use bullet points to separate and emphasize long content.
- Text in colour or in bold is recommended for emphasizing, but overuse is inadvisable.
- Proof-read and make sure the final result is error-free.
(Braun et al., 2016, p.91,92)

 The reason for designing an audience-friendly report is to facilitate the reader’s reading
experience as well as helping them to engaging the main points, without having to waste
time searching for the needed information. Moreover, a well-design structure will create a
goodwill and a positive impression towards the report.

3. Discuss suggestions for coping with speaker anxiety in online meetings

Online meeting is the solution chosen by many educational institutions and business companies during
the COVID-19 period. This method has been and will become a trend to be strengthened, consolidated
and gradually become an inevitable trend. However, participants may face anxiety when joining online
meetings. Therefore, we should prepare the combating tactics to reduce it:
3

 Prior to the meeting, the speakers should practice the speech fluently so that their
presentation can be more engaging and convincing.
 The speaker should make more interaction to their audiences so that the listeners will feel
respected and understood.
 Ask for audience’s feedbacks and additional concerns to make sure that they listen to the
speech actively.
 Use non-verbal communication such as hand movements, facial expression, voice and tone
ever since the speaker can only connect with the audiences through screens.
