Reflection No.

1. Trace the development of science and technology from the pre-colonial times up to the
present. What have you observed?
- As time passes, I've noticed that science and technology in the Philippines continue to evolve
for progress. During the pre-colonial period, it was abundantly clear that Filipinos were
genuinely gifted at creating something new out of nothing. During the colonization period, I
can say that colonizers assisted the country in developing into a more modern nation by
utilizing its resources. Although colonizers robbed our country of numerous resources, I
believe they also shaped our fellow citizens in terms of education, as Filipinos are truly
inventive today. While we owe nothing to the colonizers, we should be grateful for education
as a social equalizer. At the moment, science and technology catalyze human and social
development toward a better nation.

2. What do you think are the major contributions of science and technology in the
Philippines?
- The advancement of science and technology in the Philippines is critical for economic
development, social industrialization, and the development of a vast modern civilization.
Because science and technology exist to advance the nation, the country becomes more
receptive to research and development and assistance to small and medium-sized
businesses and human resource development. Additionally, the Philippines was settled to be
extremely rich in agricultural production. Yet, today, with the advancement of science and
technology, we have become industrialized in various ways, increasing our country's
agricultural production. Science and technology have also modernized our land, transforming
it from Asia's sick man to the region's bright spot. This is primarily due to our excellent
inventors supported by the government in their pursuit of a more developed and advanced
nation.

3. What specific government policy do you like the most in terms of contributing to the
development of science and technology in the Philippines?
- If I had to choose which government to admire for its contributions to science and technology,
it would be the one that informs us about weather conditions through the use of the Philippine
Atmosphere Geophysical and Astronomical Services (PAGASA). As a result, the public is
kept informed of current events that may occur due to their impact on the public's lives. As a
result, we can prepare for and secure ourselves against the uncertain events that may arise
as the days pass. To summarize, it played a significant role in our decision to become more
active. Additionally, the government researches this subject, which means that whoever is
assigned to these professions is prepared to disseminate legitimate information to the public.

4. What do you think are the major contributions of the Philippines to the field at present?
- I believe the Philippines' significant contribution to the field at the moment is that we are fond
of various patronizing technologies, and the majority of Filipinos are also familiar with
inventions such as Victor Llave's Amphibious Salamander Tricycle and Dr. Fe Del Mundo's
Medical Incubator, both of which are well-known to this current generation. To summarize,
Filipinos are imaginative enough to think outside the box and overcome their curiosity about
something, which results in the discovery or invention of things beneficial to human life and
existence.

5. What policies do you want the government to implement in the near future?
- As a Filipino, the policies I want the government to implement soon are to allow anyone,
regardless of age or experience, to work in any company/companies that discriminate against
anyone's abilities will be unable to continue operating and will immediately request to cease
operations; this is the only way to reduce the number of street children, the uneducated, and
crime, as everyone will be able to find work.
