The Lords of the Silver Twilight are all
immortal, ancient and monstrous either
in mein to behaviour. Their immortality
is maintained through sorcerous means
accumulated over many centuries
of scrounging the Earth for magical
secrets. Some have alienated themselves
from human frailties and human biology,
while others steal vitality from their
mortal lessers.
In previous centuries, Knights who
served the Lords could eventually earn
promotion to Lordship, but as the ranks
of the top tier swelled the social order
ossified.

The original thirteen alchemists and
occult delvers who allied with a rural
witch-cult to form the seed of the
contemporary Silver Twilight were
from the trading city of Ghent, and in
its medieval streets they still maintain
the central locus of their cult. There
they keep a ritual centre, library, and
the occult equivalent of an armory, all
hidden away from prying eyes.
Their fortunes have waned over the
years, but they are still collectively
millionaires. Belgian financial fronts are
still the main means by which the Silver
Twilight bankroll their actions.

The original chivalric order is fractured
by the breakup of the Austro-Hungarian
empire. It was the eyes, ears and strong
arm of the Flemish cabal, but their
temporal power base was a network of
aristocratic and bourgoise connections
in the Austro-Hungarian empire. In
the aftermath of the Great War these
connections came under fire from
nationalist and socialist forces

THE WITCH-CULT

The Witch-Cult that originally allied
with the Flemish cabal still exists,
travelling Europe on their grisly
errands. They are nominally bound to
meet yearly on the most sacred Sabbat,
but fewer and fewer meet each year.
Some have died or been killed, some
have come to loathe their comrades-
in-sorcery; others have simply lapsed
into the ennui and listlessness of
immortality. They are hidebound,
strange, and insular.

hunts and revolutions, she has always
