Working on this project has made me realise what actually design is.
It has made me mould into a unique creative person as a designer, not
just creativity but also problem solving is a priority is something I learnt
in this process. It wouldn’t have been possible without the people who
stood behind me during this project, they are none other than my mentors.
Also, my parents and friends who kept me motivated during this entire
process even at the times where I wanted to give up and lost hope.
Today I have completed my project with all the positivity and self
confidence.

The term Flamboyant refers to a person


that attracts others with their stylishness
and unique persona. Mumbai being a diverse
city, you witness amalgamation of a lot of
things going around. Then why not in the
outfits we wear ? Mixing our Indian culture
with the modernity can be something
interesting to go for. Streets are the daily ramps
pf people who love to experiment and also
stand out of the crowd. No restrictions are the
special qualities that can be enhanced through
streetstyle.

The STREET approach to style and fashion is often based on indivisualism, rather than
focusing solely on current fashion trends. Using street style methods, indivisuals
demonstrate their multiple, negotiated. This, in itself, is a performance, as it creates a
space where identities can be explored through the action of dress.
Starting with Bill Cunningham and ending with up-and-coming bloggers with thier own
point-and-shoot cameras, streetstyle is an incredibly viral, incredibly instant, incredibly
addictive facet of fashion that’s changed lots of the ways in which fashion gets made and
consumed. Streetstyle has taken that core idea - swapping, sharing, engaging in conversation
about that joy of dressing with other people and made it something we can all be a part of,
while eating breakfast in our pyjamas.

Currently, social media channels have become an efficient way in fashion practices to keep
in touch with the consumer images and narratives, from fashion blogs, incivisuals can view,
and thus, approach dress from an innovative, indivisualised perspective.

I selected this category STREETWEAR beacuse I genuinely feel that I personally can connect
to this style, as I have observed that there is a lot to explore and even the biggest supporter
to our own style. People can wear anything according to their will. Streetstyle is nothing where
we actually focus on a particular garment and ask for others opinions, we wear things by doing
mix and match along with something that strikes our mind at that very moment. Streetstyle is just
an expression where every single being can express his own personality unlike to other occassions
where we decide.

The main criteria of this streetwear is the comfort as we have to roam, and survive in that particular

This artwork is based on the story of how the


news spread quickly in the Mumbai city. The
news spread like air and doesn’t takes time at all.
How people meet and gossip while having the cutting
chai. How the diverse city comes together for the
justice and has a lot of unity.

This artwork is based on the story of Dadar Flower market.


You can see the wholesale flower market every morning in
Dadar that is based in Mumbai and also has a lot of rush to buy
these flowers.

This artwork is based on the story of Kala Ghoda that


isn event in Mumbai organised every year. In this event
all the different artworks and installations are show
cased. Here there is no discrimination as all the people
around come here to experience the event. The background
that shows the colorful fabric in sky supports all the religions
and casts.

HARVARD REFERENCING
This project has been a tough journey to meet the deadlines and yet take the
best out of me for the project. Exploration has been a consistent thing throughtout
this entire process till the end. I was able to learn more about fabrics and techniques.
A changed perspective about design is something I have realised during these
months of work. I also explored about myself according to my aesthetics and liking.
