Andy Warhol

Andy Warhol was born on the 6th of August 1928 and passed away on
the 22nd of February 1987. Andy Warhol had a near death experience
where he was shot 3 times in the chest by a feminist named Valerie
Solanas, in 1968. Andy Warhol was a famous artist in the 1960s and
was famous for his magazine and ad illustration. He also did a variety of
art forms including, film making, writing, video installations, and
performance art. He brought the concept of consumerism and
popularized the use of art as a reflection of society. In the 1960s Andy
Warhol launched the concept of pop art paintings that focused on mass
produced commercials. Andy Warhol believed that art shouldn’t be
defined by a time or concept but how it should give the viewer a new
feeling and movement every time. Unlike the original Brillo carton boxes,
these sculptures are made of actual wood making them unable to be used
and un-functional. The Brillo box artwork was an exact replica of the
original Brillo soap pads carton box except the Andy Warhol version was
made out of real wood The difference between the Andy Warhol version
and real version are that the real one is made out of carton and the
Andy Warhol version is made out of actual wood. They would probably be
amazed by how he managed to create such an amazing model of the real
version and how its an exact replica. Some people might get confused to
why Andy Warhol might have created this artwork while some might
find it fascinating and creative how he made a sculpture representing the
Brillo soap pads packaging. The artwork reflected on the world by
creating a new concept which we know now as pop art. I think that the
artwork reminds us of the great artist Andy Warhol and his great
artworks and pop art pieces.
