Comments / observations on the final BOQ -R2

MJB cum VUP

• The length & Breadth of the foundation (Pier & retaining) used in excavation shall be
corrected. (In lines with Abutment)

• Cross sectional area of piers shall be corrected. It is taken as 12.566 Sq. m instead of
3.15 Sq. m

• A1 shall be modified into Pier cum Abutment with dimension as per pier (2m dia) &
RE wall behind it as this span is acting like a VUP. By adopting it as Pier cum
Abutment, the quantities of Return wall, retaining wall & Solid Abutment can be
reduced. (Suggested earlier)

LVUPs (Box type)

• Kindly check the median width considered in the BOQ. Median width is not
considered.

SVUPs

• Kindly check the median width considered in the BOQ. Median width is not
considered for many SVUPs.

• Tar paper bearings are not considered for SVUP at 124+510 & 144+250.

VUPs

Nil

Major Bridges

• The length & Breadth of the foundation (Pier & retaining) used in excavation shall be
corrected. (In lines with Abutment)

• MJB 132+420, 133+747 & 144+172 span (EJ to EJ) shall be modified as per DPR
drawing. (20m not 22.8m)

• Since the average height of Abutments for all the 3 MJBs from FRL to FL is 11m,
Abutment stem thickness at bottom can be modified to 1.2m & at top 0.9m. – For
MJB at 133+747 & 144+172, the correction needs to be updated.
Minor Bridges (General observations)

In some cases, the overall width of the Bridges is not matching with the TCS. Kindly ensure
it is as per applicable TCS.

MNB (Girder type)

• MJB 153+620 span shall be modified as per DPR drawing. (30m not 32.8m) and it is
the skew span. Again, skew factor is multiplied. – 30m is updated in BOQ. 30m itself
is the skew span. Kindly modify.

MNB (Box type Bridges)

• Steel indices for box type Bridges shall be increase to 100Kg/Cum as the vent height
& fill heights are more in most of the Bridges.

• Down take pipes can be removed as these are MNBs

VOPs

• The length & Breadth of the foundation (Pier & Abutment) used in excavation shall
be corrected. (Offset to foundation size shall be taken as 100mm on all sides in line
with other structures). For piers 200mm projection is considered & for Abutments
100mm is considered. Uniformly adopt 100mm.

Aqueducts

• The length & Breadth of the foundation (Pier & Abutment) used in excavation shall
be corrected. (Offset to foundation size shall be taken as 100mm on all sides in line
with other structures). For piers 200mm projection is considered & for Abutments
100mm is considered. Uniformly adopt 100mm.

• The pier cross section shall be modified into circular cross section of diameter equal
to that of the square size. (eg. 0.9 x 0.9 pier cross section shall be taken as circular
pier of dia 0.9m)

VOP cum Aqueducts

• The length & Breadth of the foundation (Pier & Abutment) used in excavation shall
be corrected. (Offset to foundation size shall be taken as 100mm on all sides in line
with other structures). For piers 200mm projection is considered & for Abutments
100mm is considered. Uniformly adopt 100mm.
Culverts

• Kindly check the median width considered in the BOQ. The total width of the culvert
shall be as per the applicable TCS.

• For Pipe culverts, if 600mm cushion over the pipe is not available, encasing quantity
shall be considered.

• Parapet for box culverts shall be of M30 grade as per IRC-SP-113. Not required to
provide M40 grade.

• In case of lined canals, aprons are not required.
